Interior Mall Ripoff Bait and switch Barling Arkansas
After considerable research, I found the best online price I could for some microfiber suede fabric yardage at www.interiormall.com. Rather than placing my order online, I called Interior Mall directly. After confirming my fabric purchase of 10 yards at $12.53/yd, the sales person from Interior Mall called back and left a phone message saying that their web page hadn't been updated, and the price is really $22.38, so do I still want it?
I understand that keeping a web-page current can be a challenge, but when a company is advertising prices online, this kind of oversight is hard to distinguish from the 'Bait and switch' techniques used by fraud artists.
I don't know if the company was negligent or dishonest, but either way, the new price is unacceptable. The reason I chose this company was because they offered the best price I could find online. There were two others I had considered, one charging $16.95 per yard and the other $18.95 per yard, both less than the retail price ($24.26--sale-priced at 10% off) I found at a local brick-and-mortar fabric store.
I will call them tomorrow and see if they are willing to match the next-best online price. I hope they will. If not, I will cancel my order.
