My husband accepted an appointment with a representative of International Profit Associates. We gave him all the information he wanted. I was wary of what he was offering and when i came home I looked the company up online. First I found out that it seemed a legitimate business, next I found the article from Inc. magazine. Thats when I decided to be very cautious. What I got from the article was that they were more worried about selling than about working with their clients towards results. That night I looked over the papers he left with us and fully comprehended the exhorbitant cost of the project. My husband and I decided to listen to what he had to tell us the next day and tell him we wanted some time to think about it. At the second meeting my husband chose not to be there and the representative wanted to speak with both of us. When I told him we wanted a few days to think about it, he said that the program was designed to start immediately and if we wouldn't that we must not be ready to change the company and they wouldn't want to work with us. I told him that was fine but he still wanted to see my husband. I finally talked to my husband and told the representative we were NOT interested. He asked why and reminded me about the fee. Which I paid. The costs he quoted us were: $950.00 for the analysis $27,000 for the book with the plans for our company an estimated 170 hours at $235.00 an hour plus expenses (airfare, rental cars and motels) and $38.00 a day. To implement the plan. I only wish I had known about the meeting sooner and had the chance to reasearch the company before hand and the fact I didn't find http://www.ripoffreport.com/ until the 7th page of a search done on IPA, after I had been to both meetings. I hope this will discourage someone from even accepting an appointment with International Profit Associates. I do know we need to make some changes in our company but I will be looking locally for someone to help us make a plan and probably paying only a small portion of what IPA wanted. I feel uncomfortable with the fact we handed our private financial information to this company and will be much more careful in the future. I wonder what he was thinking as he drove away? "They sure are dumb because we could have helped them." or "They sure are smarter than they looked."
