Complaint Review: International Profit Associates - Buffalo Grove Illinois

It was the same story with us, I didn't know what was going on until AFTER my husband had already sat in a closed office with someone from IPA for a Loooonnggg time. They had me fooled too, made me believe we were headed for disaster if we didn't take thier services, I kept questioning again and again how we were going to pay for their VERY expensive services when we were already behind on our other bills, I was told again and again they were not going to hurt out business and if we couldn't afford them they wouldn't charge or would reduce thier charges for that week. After our consultation we were given about 8 pages of very confusing info of about what we already knew was going on in our business and we were handed a invoice for 950 dollars. At this point we did feel that the survey had given us some info and we paid for it, we were then asked to sign a contract I said I wasn't sure and so did my husband,at the point the rep told us to write a few things down, he said for my husand to write down that he said that no matter what happened IPA would NOT hurt our business and they would work with us no matter what the circumstances, then he had Tim write down that we could end the contract at any time we were uncomfortable or felt we weren't in control of the "project" any longer. We signed like idiots. The next day, even though my husband told them not to come until after lunch because he had an appointment that morning they showed up first thing, 2 of them although we were told 1.....they kept him in the office again with the doors closed so none of our drivers could have contact then after they gone done with him, even though I said I needed to get alot of work done, they kept me locked away in the office blabbering to me for two hours as well, this is when i became suspicious because they were talking about wanting to work 10 and 12 hour days to help our business while they were there and shorten their time there (more like squeeze as many of those 235.00 dollar hours in a day as possible) I said no right away, we are already pressed for time with my son. At this point I started to question everything and later when my husband came backand we both sat down with the head scammer, and I again questioned the cost thats when he finally decided to tell me the cost would be around 11,000 - 15,000 per week NOT including trip costs, food and motel. I about passed out and I said a few choice words and said your crazy and walked out of the office, of course they didn't leave my husband alone they stayed in there for another hour or so, but when I came home I looked up all the info I could find on IPA and found this website, I told my husband when he came home what I had found and he proceeded to tell me the real clincher, that idiot told him that we should forgo paying any other bills, close our accounts with that particular business and open a new one somewhere else and just not pay them. I was completely astounded. THe next morning they were in our office, before 8 am. I called and told them I wanted them to stop immediatly, he gave me no argument he said was i sure I said YES absolulty we aren't interested, he said he would "do what had to be done" by the time I got to my office the harrassment was ongoing, they had my husband in his office begging to him sign both a "business plan" and a check for the grand total of 10,400.00 He didn't sign either so they called someone at thier office and had him harrass Tim over the phone for 20 mins or so...finally I said if you can't leave we'll just have the police escort you, SUDDENLY they began getting ready to leave...the main bully came over and asked me if I wanted to say goodbye I said no I am busy working on work that I should've done three days ago but I was locking up in that office there wasting my time, he then told me that they were filing suit, and that it cost then 60.00 dollars I said SO? I said sue, your not getting anything so he began with the insults of how we needed to stop acting like kids, (my hubby and I are 30) and that we signed a contract I said I signed a contract stating that I could discontinue the service at any time and i chose now. I said I read about them on the internet and both of their faces turned various shades of white and red and they quickly found the door promising to see us in Chicago, I said alrighty. I later leared that he tried to negoiate the bill with my husband and told him that to get it taken care of today, he could take 7500.00 instead of the 10,400. Thankfully my hubby said he wasn't paying anything. THose people did NOTHING but take totals from our taxes the last the last three yrs and reproduce then on neat little pie charts and tell us stuff we already knew. Don't let them through the door, I don't know what to expect but I am sure we will hear from them again, I already contacted our lawyer I guess I should contact our state Attorney next. If anyone has advice please contact ripoffreport.com and ask them if they can get us together....any advice is helpful our company is small and can't stand to lose the money.
