I read the Rip-off Reports about how the Feds tried to shut down CP Direct and then they were right back in business. Then I received this unsolicited e-mail. Could it be from CP Direct?

After checking the link there is no address, phone number and no way to make contact, signed by:

In order to proceed further into the website and get any information you have to provide your credit card number. (There is also a clever warning not to click more than once to prevent multiple billing - a rather ominous warning, thinks I.) This looks mysteriously like CP Direct's modus operandi to me, so I did some checking on the IPSP. Here's what I found:

This piqued my curiousity so I did some checking. First I checked with the Vegas Better Business Bureau and they had no record of any complaints on these businesses, although I have found chat rooms dedicated to this rip-off.
I made a call to Nevada Secretary of State and there was no record of incorporation in the state, nor was there any registered agent. Then I called the Clark County Department of Business Licenses (800) 455-3575 and learned that no business license was ever issued for these businesses, or for any ficticious names (DBAs).
I live in Arizona, so I checked with the Corporation Commission and was told that there is no domestic or foreign company registered in Arizona, which is strange, because I think that is a requirement before they start soliciting here. I think the authorities should check out this company and if there is any connection with the CP Direct scam.
