I was searching online for ways to make additional money from home when I came across a website offering a free kit on how to earn money on the internet.
At first I was a little leary but decided to go through with it after carefully reading the conditions and was surprised when all I had to pay was $3.88 for shipping and handling.
Well low and behold when I went to check my bank account I saw my account was debited $72.21 from Internet Income Inititiative. I immediately went online to look them up so I could call to see why the money was taken out, when I came across ripoffreport.com and saw that I wasn't the only one scammed out of money.
I immediately called and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Asim who told me that it clearly stated under terms and conditions that the money was non-refundable and that there was a free 7-day trial. However I still have yet to receive the so-called kit. I then requested to speak with a supervisor (as I was getting no where with the first person, who only told me he can give me the corporate address but no telephone number. I then spoke with Tommy (rep id# 12021), who basically told me the same thing as the first rep, that he couldn't refund the money and that I could make as many complaints that I wanted, but the money still wouldn't be refunded.
I am really upset and disgusted that these fake website businesses are able to de-fraud consumers out of their hard earned money. It's bad enough that people are already skeptical about giving their information online, but yet we're told that we can make additional money at our convenience when it's really a lie and no one is held accountable.
The only thing you can do is dispute it with your bank, but you're still on the losing end because the company still has gotten paid.
I am very upset of the fact that I was laughed at when I called and attempted to have my money credited back as if I was some type of raving lunatic who was hopelessly trying to plead her case. I hope that this doesn't go unnoticed. These type of businesses need to be punished for what they're doing. I don't know what type of economy everyone else lives in, but $72.21 is alot of money when you don't have any.
