Intuit-TurboTax Deceptive at the very least, this company should not be allowed to use the word free in any of their advertising Internet, California
This company, claiming it guides you "like a GPS" leads you to believe that the services they provide, as an approved vendor for the IRS, they will guide you through income tax preparation and allow you to file for "free". Here is their wording on the Google search results: "TurboTax Free Fed Edition - Your Maximum Refund GuaranteedPrepare, Print & e-File For Free.
Why Choose TurboTax - Free to Prepare, Print, Efile - Guaranteed 100% Accurate."
What they cleverly fail to tell you is, after you spend the several hours going through the process there actually IS a charge of $39.95 for filing Federal and additional for state. Of course they will tell you to read the long and tedious License agreement, they are a ripoff!
I would like to see the IRS drop them from the approved vendor list and for them to remove the word "Free" from any of their advertising.
