I bought the Iowa Outdoors magazine subscription for my father for father's day. The cost was $12. A couple of weeks after the initial purchase, my credit card was charged a second time for $12. This was back in July, 2010. It is now November, 2010. After six emails, four phone calls, faxing them copies of my bank statement, and even speaking with the Editor in Chief himself, still no refund. I get a different story every time I contact customer service. The first time I called they said they would refund the charge that day, never happened. The second time I called they asked to see copies of my bank statements because they didn't believe me. I did that, still no refund. The third time I called they said they were going to cut me a check that day and put it in the mail and I should receive it in about a week. The check never came. Now, they claim that they've already refunded my money and that my bank's records are wrong. I've been trying to get my $12 back from these incompetent b***s for more that 4 months with no result. I've experienced a lot of bad customer service in my life, but these people take the cake. This the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced, especially over something as simple as a duplicate charge for a magazine subscription. The magazine is actually a pretty decent magazine, but unfortunately since the customer service is so terrible I will never subscribe again. The bottom line here is that they stole money out of my bank account and refuse to give it back. That is theft and is just plain unacceptable.
