Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I first hired Israel Villarreal in June of 2013, he made me sign a contract to begin work on or before June June 11,2013 and to be completed on or before June 20,2013, he was paid half up front, was to be paid another partial once painting was completed and the remainder when the full job was complete. In our contract he agreed to furnish all material and perform all necessary work.

When the work began he showed up with a painter who not only ended up knocking out one of our porch light fixtures but also painted over lighting trim and sprayed paint on windows because he did not cover them before starting to paint. He was to install new window shutters, one of which came out crooked and he agreed to fix and reinstall. Almost a year later and several promises to come finish he finally resurfaced again. We ended up having  to pay another electrician to put our light fixtures back up.

He was also supposed to retile our front porch which I provided the material for and was to install a new colum. The porch was never retiled and about a week after the front porch colum was installed it began to open apart, it turns out that apparently he expected this to be secure with only 3 screws on each side. He finally ended up sending another one of his laborers to finish installing posts in our back porch, but he said since it had been so long and he was short on funds he asked me to pay him the remainding balance so he could pay the laborer and buy the rest of the needed material.

This guy ended up intalling posts that were too short and he made adjustments by just staching a couple of blocks under the posts, none of which were secured down, just simply  leaning on one would knoch the whole post down. That laborer ended up not returning because he said Israel had not paid him for other jobs he had done for him. So a couple of months later and several text messages with false promises for laborers to show up and finish he finally ended up sending another guy over to "complete" the work. This poor guy ended up having to redo all the mess the last guy did and purchased supplies which he was told would be reimbursed by Israel. I ended up getting a message from Israel telling me I needed to pay the guy an additional $300.00 because he was charging $500.00 to complete the job, after telling him I was already paid in full per our contract and that the job was still not completed he told his laberer to drop everything and leave because I was not going to pay him. After speaking with the other laborer I discovered that Israel had told him that this was a side job and that I would pay him myself, he said Israel already owed him over 1000.00 in other jobs he helped him with and was never paid, he too had been getting the run around from him. He said it was not the first time Israel was paid in full and ran with the customers money without finishing the job. Now he will not return any calls and he never came back to finish the job he was paid in full for.
