My car was repossessed by J & J ADJUSTERS. I had it head in parking. They put the side arm in to get it & they caused damage to my right front bumper. Then when they got ready to tow it, they came down with the brace & did damage to my left front bumper. They also scratched my trunk lid all up. They took two small items which were my radar detector cord & a special pen. They had pillaged my car like dope fiends would. My glove box & console were wide open & everything was thrown out on the floorboard. They have been exceptionally rude to me from the beginning & they still have not responded to me.

I would like to find out the name of their insurance company so I can file a claim to get my car fixed. I got an estimate from Service King already. They caused $800 worth of damage to my car & they will not tell me the name of their insurance company.

This last year I have been sick with Toxic Mold & still am. That is why my car got repossessed in the first place. I wasn't that far behind on my payments anyway & I never said that they were not going to get paid. I've just really been sick, & this was just one more monkey wrench thrown into the pile & I don't have much fight left in me!

JJ Adjusters Returned Car In Awful Condition

#2Consumer Comment

My car was temporarily reposessed by JJ Adjusters. I was able to borrow the money and paid off the balance. I showed up at JJ Adjusters and was completely devastated. The windshield wipers were completely destroyed, the car had been trashed and dents were everywhere on my car. There were sunflower seeds everywhere in the car. The apparently destroyed the car on purpose. Keep in mind, the car was only in their posession for 2 days before I picked it up. They are a very shady business that should be shut down. I took my car to service king to have one major dent looked at. The guy there said, "It looks to me like they deliberately kicked the car". Despicable way to do business.

Just doing their jobs

you may not like it, but the folks over at J&J just picked up your car. They were hired to do so by the bank. If you got your car repossesed it is because you didn't pay the bank. No one gets a free ride. As for the damage and their insurance. It isn't their job to fix your car. they have insurance and it is all posted online as a matter of public record. These guys get threatened and shot at on a daily basis while they do their jobs picking up cars from people who refuse to pay their bills. As a person who pays my bills I respect the hard work of repo men and believe that if there were truly a theft claim it would be best settled with the police and not on a message board such as this. I have met the folks at J&J many times and have found them to operate by the letter of the law

SHE IS VERY MUCH MISTAKEN!

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, February 07, 2008

This lady is not right in any statement she has made. First of all she did not make her payments on her car and the finance company wanted it picked up. We tried to pick up the car 2 weeks prior and she drove over a curb and sped off. We did repo her car 2 weeks later. She was no where around when we did repo it. My company exclusively uses Jerr-Dann Quick-pick MPL40 recovery units mounted on Ford F450 trucks. These recovery units are the most expensive, top-of-the-line, on the market today. These units repo cars by hydralic spoons that attatch around the drive tires of any vehicle for completley damage free towing. They do not attach to the bumpers like conventional tow trucks. I'm sure she believes our trucks are like regular tow trucks and thats how she has seen a wrecker hook up to other cars in the past. The current repossession businesses in the U.S.A. use similar recovery units. The is a huge difference between a repo truck and a wrecker! Ask anyone in the business in any town and they will tell you! Second of all her leinholder instructed us not to enter her car at any time for any reason because it was a bio-hazzard and was contaminated with toxic mold. My personel never entered her car at any time, form, or fashion. When she did come pick up her vehicle she did state on her release that the cord to her radar detector was missing, not as she stated in her report to yall. Thirdly, she walked around her vehicle and signed her release form stating the vehicle was in the exact condition prior to us picking up her car. As i stated above she did list that her cord was missing from her radar detector. I run a very honest business. I have several offices accross the great State of Texas. Its really sad that just because people fall on bad times they always wanna shoot the messenger. She got herself in this situation because she didnt make her car payments. Most people have to get three months behind before they get repoed or they break their payment arrangements. If this lady or any other person that has had their car repoed before, would have just made their payments or kept their promises they had made to their leinholder, they would have never met me or anyone else in my industry. Fourthly, she has never told anyone at anytime there was damage to her car. She has never asked me or anyone at my company for my insurance companies name. My insurance company is listed with the State of Texas Department of Transportation website and is accessable 24hrs a day. There is a 2ft by 2ft sign in my office (state law by the way)that states "questions or complaints, call or write, dept. of transportation, motor carrier division, 800-299-1700, 125 e. 11th Austin Tx, 78701", and my TXDOT # is 005851202C, and my storage lic is 0600267VSF. I hope Ripoff report sees my point of view and verifies my above statements with Jerr-Dann corp and/or any repo company in the U S A. This lady is looking for someone to shoulder her misfourtunes that she herself caused. JAY JUSTICE OWNER J & J ADJUSTERS WACO, TEXAS U.S.A.

You will have to sue them in Small Claims Court

#5Consumer Suggestion

Sun, December 09, 2007

Did you get the car back? Do you have photos of the wrecker hooked up and towing your car away? I don't Know this company personally but I do know that some Repo companies are very dishonest. They go thru your vehicle and are supposed to put your personal belongings in bags or boxes for a thirty day storage (no charge for personal affects) then after that it who ever wants them. The vehicle however is subject to past due amount owed and repo fees (per day). I hope you can prove that THEY did the damage as they have probably told the company that authorized the repo that (it was like that when we picked it up). "I have seen it done before" I suggest to you take pictures of what they hit to do the damage and try to show "fresh" damage in the pictures such as paint flakes on the ground from your vehicle, or scrape marks. as far as finding out their Insurance Company name you might try the Local Police or call the company that financed the vehicle and tell them of the damage and have them come look at where it happened. They will Know who the Insurance carrier is for J & J Adgusters is. As they would have to disclose that info to work for the finance company. I hope I helped in some way. Barney Bryan,Tx
