In December, 2016 I agreed to rent a condo from James Nello in Palm Desert for the month of February, 2017. The condo was being represented as a freshly remodeled condo with a number of amenities as shown by pictures Nello sent to me. About a week before the rental began, I noticed that the pictures on VRBO # 513123 changed which showed an unrenovated condo. I contacted Nello about these pictures and he indicated that they were incorrect and that the owner had invested $118,000 in the condo and that it was one of the five best condos in this community. Unfortunately when we arrived, the unremodeled pictures were correct. In addition much of the description on VRBO of this property was incorrect. I will cite a few examples: VRBO states it is "Brand Spanking New" - it definitely is not; the use of two bicycles - there were no bicycles; a morning room seating 4 - very small kitchen with no seating; a dining area seating 8 - only seats 6; patio seating for 6 plus 2 loungers - patio seating was for 4 and the 2nd lounger was delivered over halfway through the month; use of a Platinum Membership to Palm Valley Country Club - no membership; all rooms overlooking the golf course - only the kitchen and living room overlook the golf course. After the first couple days of my rental month, Nello would not return my emails, texts or phone calls. I believe I experienced a "bait and switch" strategy from Nello. Since I read Compaint Report #1348090 complaining about James Nello and Vacation Rentals of the Desert, I wanted to file this complaint about James Nello confirming the earlier Report that he is not an honest professional.

It's amazing how this guest stayed in our brand spanking new VRBO #513123 House and because the guest could not figure out how to open our electric awning, they wanted a full refund which was obviously declined. Now that we see that these guests have caused defimation of my character, we will be filing charges in Riverside County. It's the old saying that "You just can't please everyone". I am absolutely appauled that this guest would try to get something for free in this day and age.
