I put 2 items on 4 or 5 Newspapers to sell. I listed the items under their Miscellaneous sites and put them on for about 1 month.
I started to receive emails - some marked URGENT - that they wanted my info on the items. This is one of the emails I received exactly as she wrote it:
"Hello sell, I am Janet Cold i was surfing on the web before i got accross your item, and i am using this medium to show my keen interest in your item for my client as it seems to matches his taste and choice. i will like to buy the item but first i will want to know if you are the real owner of the item and also i will like to know THEPRESENT CONDITION OF THE ITEMS, is so? what is the last price to sell the for me? and item we be pick up by shiiping company Mode of paymentwould be in either america certified cashiers check or money order. i await your preffered choice of payment. Get back to asap with your full payment info like name, address and your phone number so i can contact my client to issue the payment right away and here bellow is my email: (
[email protected])Thanks. Have a nice weekend. Janet Cold."
After receiving all the other emails I knew it was not legit. I want these people stopped before some elderly person or young person, who are susceptible to these people, get caught in their web.
After all these emails I have come to think there is actually a school out there teaching people how to be a Rip Off Artist. Most of these emails are exactly alike or very near to it.
I will do what I can to help stop them.
