Janis Roux Anna West, Janis Riddle, Janis Kennedy, Janis Bulli Hired Janis under the alias of Anna West for design and home remodel project management. Paid her $26,000 in advance for furniture, flooring, and accessories. Received about $6,000 in product/services before she disappeared. Bradenton Florida
I met with Janis on 6/5 to assist with my home remodel. Explained my tight timeframe of needing the project completed by 7/1. She stated that would be easy and we could complete even more projects than my priorities. However, monies needed to be paid up front due to rush deliveries going straight to my home. The project kicked off on 6/15 with her sub contractor doing demo work. After about a week of progress I began questioning her on the deliveries as no items were coming in. I continually received different stories on when product would be in and why it was late. The sub continued to work but was mostly sitting around when he did show up becuase he did not have product to work with. I began to go out and buy products on my own just to give him something to do and keep it moving forward.
My gut started to say something was wrong and I started to investigate. Things to know:
Janis was working with me under an alias - Anna West and company name - Ambiance Design Group. I couldn't find any reviews online. I found a box the sub had brought over on 6/26 with a Sarasota address. I traced the address back to Janis Roux and pulled together that I was being scammed. I gave her approximately $26,000 in 3 checks. From what I can gather she used that money to partially pay the sub and order small items like a mirror and 2 ugly a*s lights. She never ordered my vanity, sinks, whole home flooring, paint, etc. I confronted her on 6/30 about the lack of deliveries. She is such an amazing liar I almost believed her when she said that all the products were due to be delivered on 7/2-6. I gave one last attempt to receive product knowing that it would be less expensive for her to just order my items than pay me a refund.
On 7/3 I'd had enough. I confronted her in her driveway after she had again failed to produce any products or even order my flooring. During that confrontation she learned that I knew her true identity. That was 4 days ago and she has stopped all correspondence. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney general's office and local police departement. I will also be pursuing all avenues criminal and civil to bring her to justice and hopefully see her behind bars for her scams.
