I visited Jared The Galleria in Jewelry to shop for Engagement Rings.  I looked around and they did not have a ring that fit the bill.  I was informed by Jeff my Sales Rep that he could build me a ring similar to his competitor and save me a few thousand dollars.

I thought that sounded like a great idea so I agreed to do it.  I explained to Jeff everything that I wanted including the metal in the setting.  We agreed to a ring design and price.  When this happend I paid for a portion of the ring in cash and financed the remainder of the balance.

The ring was completed a couple of months later and I went to take delivery of the ring.  I was very happy with the ring.  I presented the ring to my fiance and she loved it.  I instructed her to have the ring appraised so we could add it to our homeowners insurance.

When the ring was appraised the appraiser informed my fiance that the ring was in a setting of White Gold.  The problem is that I instructed Jeff that I wanted the setting in Platnium.  When I ordered the ring Jeff informed me that it would take longer to build due to the fact that Jared would have to send it offsite to bend the metal.  He informed me that they were not able to achieve the temperature onsite to shape the ring.

At this point the ring appraised for approximately 50% of the amount that I paid for it.  2 days later I paid a visit to Jared to explain to Jeff that I was dissapointed and that the quality of the ring was unsatisfactory.  I informed Jeff that I had a flight to catch and did not have time to stick around.  He informed me that he would get with Bryan "Store Manager" and that I would get a call back with a solution.

In the meantime my fiance call Sterling Jewelers Corporate Headquarters.  They called the store and spoke with Bryan.  At this point Bryan informed the corporate office that the only concession that he could offer was to sell me a new setting in Platnium at a cost of $4000.

I found it odd that they charged me $5100 for a setting of White Gold but were now willing to offer me a setting of Platnuim for $4000 on metal that's more expensive when the ring was suppose to be set in Platnium from the start.  When I arrived back into town i visited Jared once again.

My salesperson was not in.  I was greeted by a female that stated that she was the Manager on Duty.  I explained the situation to her and she informed me that my Salesperson Jeff and the Store Manager Bryan were working on a solution.  I informed her that I needed a call by the end of the day from someone that could make a decision 8/6/13 or I would call Bank of America and dispute the charge for the down payment.

She assured me that I would get a phone call from someone from the store with a solution.  I didn't recieve a phone call 8/6 or 8/7.  On 8/8 I felt that I had given ample time for a return call.  I called Bank of America to dispute the charge.

The representative at Bank of America called Jared in an attempt for a resolution.  She was unsuccessful in reaching a manager.  At this point she filed a claim on my behalf.

As she was filing the claim she asked me if I returned the merchandise.  I informed her that it was hard to return the merchandise when I couldn't even get a return phone call from the management staff.  When I told her that she advised me to return the ring immediately for a full refund.

I visited the store that same day around 5pm.  I was greeted by yet another Manager at the store.  His name was Gabrielle.  I informed that I wanted to return the ring and get a refund and had no interest in speaking about anything else.

I informed him that Bank of America would be pulling the down payment.  He explained that there was nothing else that could be done and that would be between myself and their legal dept.  He then gave me another phone number to corporate and informed me that they could help me further.

I called that number 8/12/13.  When you call the Corporate headquaters they call the store and speak with the Store Manager and you get the same results.  My next move will be to hire an attorney and move to arbitration.  This Company cares nothing about it's reputation or customers.
