Jason Mayer Studio - Jasonmayer.com - Jason Mayer Web Design - Jason Mayer poor service, failed to meet contractual obligations and deadlines, lack of professionalism and work ethic, poor communcation and then ANGRY THREATS!!! Decatur, Georgia
I originally contacted Jason Mayer to build an e-commerce storefront on a really tight deadline. A rate was agreed on based on the deadline and work required. I payed 50% deposit down same day to get work started. I expected the work to be completed or nearly completed (at least nearing functionality) 72 hours after payment. Well, over a week and 1/2 after initial payment, the storefront is still not properly functional. I've emailed multiple times with revisions and corrections that have not been made. There are a variety of spelling and design errors. Some item thumbnails in the storefront incorrectly link to the wrong items. And worst of all, when the user clicks "buy now" on some items, they paypal payment is not sent to the store owner, but to Jason Mayer!!! I've asked him to correct this multiple times as well, and it was not corrected. Seeing as how 10 days in functionality could still not be autheticated, proven or guarenteed, I decided to build the storefront myself. I did it in 2 days, and it's fully functional.
About 4 times during this process, Jason asked for full payment saying the storefront was done. Everytime i corrected him, and pointed our multiple mistakes, they were promised to be fixed ASAP but were not.
Today he again asked for full payment, saying the site was done, when it clearly was not. All the mistakes in functionality mentioned above had STILL not been corrected. I told him I no longer wished to move forward at this point, and that's when the threats began, demanding full payment. There were threatening emails, and phone calls, of a tone that sounded like he was more of a mob boss hit man than a web designing.
He also threathened to post a report HERE on ME!! and my client because we ripped HIM OFF (!!!). This is absolutely outrageous, and in all my years of business I have never heard of something so unprofessional. He never obtained a written contract either stipulating he should be paid in full no matter what, and in my business, the way it's generally done is 50% upfront, and then the balance when your work is fully approved and lauched!!!!
I am an honest, hard working, ethical business owner with an impecable reputation, and I will not stand by while anyone with questionable work ethics and manners attempts to tarnish my reputation or the reputation of my clients.

Today, Jason threatened to sue me for libel because I posted a rip off report about him, the services he provided, and the threats that followed when I no longer wanted to move forward working with him.
Jason continues his campaign of intimidation, lack of professionalism, and cites other libel cases he's won in the past ...makes you wonder how many times he's been in court, doesn't it?
Search his name for other rip off reports and his unprofessional dealings with other clients.
I'm wondering if maybe he intentionally threatens to post slander on rip off reports about others to see if they will post about him first, so he can then attempt to use whatever they say in their own defense against them.
