I went to jcpenny's tonight for their sale...all over the store it clearly says "buy one get one" then the price. IE:

"Buy one get one"

"99 CENTS"

Then it says way at the bottom. Originally $8.00. So i am like..cool.. these socks here... are..buy one get one 99cents... So i try to buy it and the cashier told me it was $8.00, and the second pair was 99cents. She was very rude towards me despite how polite i was towards her in asking for a manager. Even though i asked for a manager she argued with me over what the sign said and continued to argue, eventually it sank in what i was asking her and she called the mod.

well, while i was waiting, she very rudely mocked me while talking to her co-cashier about what i was doing. I waiting 10 minutes plus, for a manager, very patiently and politely, and i stood by the socks in question, while doing so i saw the General Manager, (as indicated by her badge) walk past me while busilly chatting away with another manager, towards the customer service desk...well, i laughed because she kinda leaned over and peaked at the customer service desk from a distance- the one that called for her 10 minutes prior, and then quickly turned around and started scurrying away, and while doing so, the rude cashier who helped me, hollered out at her so rudely, saying "hey we got customers over here waiting for you".. so yeah i went over the the customer service desk, met with her and told her very politely...my concern, telling her that i believed they were falsely advertising, tricking their customers.

all she said was she would tell corporate and that no other customers had complained and that was that, she refused to honor the 99cents buy one get one that was advertised. I laugh at this because theres no doubt anyone else would wanna wait that long just to make something right, whereas i did. Did she thank me for my efforts? no..clearly by her rudeness and lack of initiative to help, she had no intention of doing so. I think she made us wait so long thinking that we would disapear.. this happened about 7:20pm sat night. I am emailing a picture of their advertisement for this. This is a bogus company.

Buy One Get One for 99 Cents = Buy one pair of socks for $8.00, Get another pair of socks for 99 cents. I can't believe that you are so dumb that you could not figure that out. I think you were just making a scene to try to get everything in the add for 99 cents without first buying an item at regular price! For you to cry rip off over your own botched stupidity is ridiculous. No wonder the manager didn't want to waste her valuable time dealing with you.

And people wonder why there are so many ridiculous disclaimers on items these days! I too was at JC Penneys this last weekend, and also saw BOGO offers throughout the store. Most of us out here are intelligent enough to realize that BOGO offers are just that....Buy one at regular price, get one at a reduced price. The sign didn't say 'clearance', which would indicate that the prices are drastically cut for inventory reduction. If you want socks for 99 cents, try the dollar store, because you're not going to find them at Penneys. This doesn't mean that JC Penneys is a rip off, it simply means that you chose to read the sign and look for a way to get something for nothing. This is on the same lines as suing McD's for your coffee being too hot! The cost of scams like this trickle down to other consumers in the form of higher prices for all of us because people like you want $8.00 socks for 99 cents.......

I have that ad in my hand right now and I don't see how anyone could possibly not understand that it means buy one item at the regular price and get the second item for 99 cents. This is a promotion that JCPenny runs all the time. It is not a rip off, you just didn't understand it.
