Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a car from J.D Byrider on 9/24/05. The car is $8,803 for total price of car. When I purchased the car I had just $500.00 which the down payment on the car was $1,000.00. J.D. did a differed payment.

A differed payment is where you pay every two weeks until you pay off the total down payment. I paid $168 twice, and then $164 to cover the down payment. I had a 18 month 18,000 mile warranty.

Thank God I had a warranty. When I purchased the car. At one point the car broke down on express way. The battery wires had burned up, so I had to pay $100.00 to get the car towed off express way.

Another time I was coming out the gas station. As soon as I pulled out into the street to get on e-way something happened I couldn't move, go into reverse, or drive. My family, and the police had to push me out the street $70.00 to get towed to J.D. Come to find out the front axle broke on car.

Now the warranty is off the car. Cap & Rotor $126.00 mechanical loan paid that off with car note every two weeks. I have major problems now J.D. told me that the computer censor on car is messed up $369.00 mechanical loan (2) with payments. This causes the car not to stay stared.

Before I can pay off the mechanical loan (2) the car breaks down on e-way by this time I have AAA. I was ready, because I had been paying $100.00 tows. Got the car towed to J.D. They tell me that the transmission went out on car and that it was going to cost me $1,200.00 to get fixed.

I tried to negotiate with management no matter what I tried to do all they can see is $$$. Just to let you know that I'm still paying the car note, and never ever been late on payment. On my credit report it says never late.

The management tell me that I couldn't get another mechanical loan until I paid off the one before transmisson goes out on car. He said that I had to pay the $250.00 the rest of the mechanical loan (2) before they can fix the transmisson.

Remind you that I also have to pay my car note every two weeks which is $139.00 $278.00 a month plus the $250.00 I added that up I came up with $528.00. Remind you that my car is broke down and I need transportation to work.

J.D. was giving me the run around they wasn't even calling me back I had to keep calling them to try, and get something to happen for me. I tried everything before this point. Finally I talked with another manager. You think that worked. I wouldn't be here if it did.

I said well since I don't have that kind of $$ to keep paying you guys for a car, that going to keep breaking down, costing me a fortune, and in mechanicals loans. How about yall come get yall car, and erase the remainder of the car balance on my credit, so it don't mess me up in the long run. I have paid for this car 2 and a half times. Almost $5,000.00. and still owe $4,100.00 on the car.

All he can say to me is that I was bound by a contract, and that I was 38 days late on a mechanical loan (2) which is a lie. I have receits from money orders, and most of all I have been paying J.D on my credit card, I do have copies of everthing I have paid to them.

I told J.D that's ok don't even worry about it no more I got this, and I hung up the phone. They can have their broke down 1997 Sebring back and I'm going legal. I will not continue to pay for a car that I can't drive, and they havn't even tried to work with me.

Not even caring J.D. have given me the impression that they don't care. For get you just give us our $$, or else. All J.D is looking at is the $$ signs. What are our rights as a consumer? Why can car dealers bound you to their contract. Are they bound to a contract? Especially if you're paying for a car way over the value, and it's a lemon. They target people that's trying to get their credit established.

J.D. know when they sale a car whats wrong with it. The prices that they are charging consumers are extremely to much. The price that I am paying for the car is not worth $8,803 for a 1997. The cars are way over priced, and not worth the money. The misery of a car that keeps breaking down, and you still have a note on it. All at the same time your paying on mechanical loans.

For J.D. to tell you that their not going to fix your car until you pay them a mechanical loan. I was willing to pay all this until I seen that they didn't appreciate my business as a consumer. The way I was treated in the past, and as of right now. They treated me so unfairly a few times. Warning comes before destruction readers, family, friends, lovers. Don't do it. Trust me you may have to face this same problem.

J.D. don't care about nothing, but money. Know your rights, and don't let them rip you off. Go legal if you can. It's way to do everything. Don't curse them out. Don't go on their property showing out. You don't want that to count against you. Just follow the necessary procedures. Most of all give them their car back if you can't continue to pay for the car and the mechanical loans.

Everything is going to work in your favor. As long as you are current in your car note, and fight it untill the end. Have all your receits everything you paid into the car. Make it public. If you keep quite they're going to keep ripping us off.

USED CARS COST MONEY TO MAINTAIN..BOTTOM LINE! NEW CARS COST MONEY TO MAINTAIN! I HAVE A 06 MITZ LANCER. IT COSTS ME 200.00 FOR A A 15K & 45K TUNE UP & 350.00 FOR 30K & 60K TUNE UP! NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT AT 60K I AM ALSO EXPECTED TO REPLACE THE TIMING BELT. I ALSO SPENT 150.00 FOR CERAMIC BRAKE PADS AT 20K. SO SINCE 4-26-06 I HAVE SPENT 900.00 ON A CAR THAT I DROVE OFF THE LOT WITH 4 MILES ON IT. SO IMAGINE A 97 VEHICLE! YOU COMPLAIN THAT NOW THAT THE CAR FOR 2YRS & 4MOS, YOU ARE HAVING TO REPLACE PARTS. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT WITH AN ALMOST 11YR OLD CAR? AS FAR AS THE CONTRACT, YOU AGREED TO THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. WOULD YOU HAVE LET THEM OUT OF THE CONTRACT WHEN THEY WERE PAYING FOR REPAIRS? AFTER ALL, THEY SHOULD LET YOU OUT OF THE CONTRACT NOW THAT THEY HAVE FULFILLED THEIR END OF THE DEAL, RIGHT? NOW, FOR THE TOWING, IT COSTS ABOUT $5 A MONTH TO HAVE TOWING ON YOUR AUTO INSURANCE. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE 18MO WARRANTY! YOU GOT 1/2 OF DODGES NEW CAR WARRANY ON A 8YR OLD CAR! DID YOU AGREE TO THE PRICE OR DID JD HOLD A GUN TO YOUR HEAD? HAVE YOU EVER NEGOTIATED A PRICE OR SHOPPED AROUND FOR ANYTHING? I DOUBT IF JD WAS THE ONLY USED CAR DEALER IN YOUR. AREA. THIS IS NOT A RIPOFF. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE, IF HAVE TRUELY MADE YOUR PAYMENTS ON TIME FOR OVER 2YRS, THAN MOST LIKELY, YOU CAN TRADE IT IN FOR A NEWER CAR AT A LOWER INTEREST RATE AT A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP.

A false sense of entitlement here. Education is the key.

Carla, Although I am no fan of JD Byrider and the like, the fact is that YOU chose to do business with them. Education is the key here. Most people make abad decision, then want to find someone else to blame for it. You bought a used car for way too much money for the convenience of being financed. They DID honor their warranty, right? Why do you feel that sense of entitlement that they are obligated to finance your repairs? They are under no moral or legal obligation to do so. Even when you get real financing from a bank, they do not finance your repairs! Grow up! And, learning about cars and how they work would save you alot of money. YOU should learn how to do the basic preventive maint. and small repairs, like that cap and rotor. Now for my favorite part! "I am going legal". Yeah, OK. You don't even have money to repair your car and yet you are going to file a lawsuit on a multimillion dollar co like JD. Good luck with that. Do you have any idea how much that will cost? THOUSANDS. And, guess what, you will need that right up front, as you have no case. JD Byrider did nothing illegal here. Guaranteed. They don't owe you anything. Guaranteed. You do have some nerve though, in asking them to just take the car back and give you a zero balance! You signed a legal binding loan contract on that car, and it makes no difference whether the car is running or not. That is not part of the contract, or the law. Time to get some education. No rip off here.

J.D. byrider will come pick up your car. With no exception. One time I paid by a money order. I went to their web address to get their address to mail off a money order to make a payment. Come to find out they didn't get the payment. I got a call that Monday from my finance consultant that they haven't received the payment yet. Me not thinking nothing of it. When I went to the web address they had two different addresses. One of the addresses was their old address, so I'm thinking do to the holidays that's why they haven't received their payment. I got a call Thursday still haven't received my payment. Now I'm getting a little worried, because my consultant is now telling me that they're going to repo my car the next day by 1:00 pm. Remind you that my car payment is due every other Friday. It's only a week later they are talking about coming to get the car. I did a little reseach J.D receptionist tells me that I mailed my money order to their old address that was on the web address. Money order still lost. I had to pull some chains to come up with a another $159.00. So I end up paying the car payment on a friends credit card, and they got their payment. Remind you that the money order is floating around God knows where. I got to pay this money back to my friend, and find my $159.00 money order. You think J.D cared as long as they got their money they didn't care. Jeremy told me when the transmission went out whose fought is that. Knowing that they have an old address on their web site. I tried to stress that to them they over talked me as if we don't care we just want our money. You made your payment so we don't want to hear it. I wonder if J.D. even went on their web address to to remove the old address off the site.
