Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My fiance and I got a pure bred Akita from a website. My fiance told her when she gets paid. Jennifer asked my fiance if she would like to send the puppy before she goes on vacation. So, we paid her through paypal but issues came with paypal so Jennifer and my fiance decided that she could mail a money order which we did. By that time we already had the puppy. When we mailed it, there wasn't a stamp so got sent back. We had the apartment management send it back to her since we had to move out of state. She should have received the money but now she is harassing us she contacted us on Facebook and she called . We have paid for the dog but she is acting like she never received the money orders. We even emailed her the photos of the money order so we would both have a copy.

I purchased an Akita and had him flown to Washington State by Jennifer Hogatt of Hogatt Akitas two years ago and still remain in contact with the breeder.  Our pup is happy and healthy and has a wonderful demeanor.  He arrived to us healthy and with no problems.  I also used PayPal to conduct business with Jennifer and experienced no problems.  The conract was clear and concise and the transaction was easy.  Jennifer was very flexible as I had never conducted business of this nature on line and was over cautious.  After reading the complaint and rebuttal, it seems, in my personal opinion, that there was either an error with PayPal or and error on behalf of the party trying to rush the transaction while relcoating.  Flexibility is key in making these type of arragements.  There are animal health certification requirements and deadlines and then the scheduling of airline flights.  Rushing is never a good idea when dealing with the transort of a live animal.  Based on what was posted, it seems as though the complaintant also violated the contract when they stated that they left the animal in the care of another family (related or not).  This breeder cares a great deal about her animals and went to great lengths to ensure that proper care was taken when our pup was purchased and transported.  Reviews from other clients are also positive.  I would recommend this breeder to anyone interested in taking on ownership of an Akita and would gladly conduct business with her breeder again.

We told you the day when my fiance gets her money you said you would be going out of town. The best way is to have it in your account where its still not showing its being processed. We would have waited to have her. It did not freeze because it wasn't her paypal it froze because paypal took the money out and said they didn't. Which my fiance told you. I posted this because from here on out we sent the money. And yeah we were posting her. We asked if you wanted her back with all this going through since we had to leave. We ended up giving her to family. So its still within us. She has a problem. Vet says she doesn't notice when she pees. Even when she is laying down. She destroyed our carpet with her issues. Worried about paying you. Which would have been nice if u waited til the money was in your account before you sent her out. We have never had any issues before with our make akita or their original owners. With reviewing this we shall proceed with the attorney area, which we had last week.

#4REBUTTAL Individual responds

First, let me say "WOW!!"  I have been in constant contact with these people and for them to write this shows what kind of character they have.

I listed an Akita puppy on a well known website, puppyfind.com.  I was contacted by the individuals, Colin Hill and Theresa Leppin.  We made arrangements to pay for the puppy and to ship the puppy to Portland, OR.  After receiveing confirmation that the money was being paid, I shipped the puppy.  After they received the puppy in Portland, the PayPal payment was reversed, stating the E-Check was returned.  I sent an email, as they do not answer the phone when I call.  In the email, I forwarded the message I received from PayPal.  Theresa responded, saying the bank reveresed the payment.  Tried making the payment again through PayPal, same thing happened.  Theresa then told me a story about her bank freezing her account because it was not HER PayPal.  We then agreed to mailing a money order, but that would take up to 10 days to wait for her account to be unfrozen.  By this time, she has had the puppy for over 2 weeks with NO payment.  She then sent me an email with pictures of 2 money orders, totaling $550, which is $350 short of the total payment due.  Those were never delivered to my house.  She then told me that her fiance mailed another money order in the amount of $350.  That never made it to my house either!!!  After letting her know that I was going to persue legal action, she then informed me that the money orders were cashed in Oklahoma, and that I was lying and SHE was going to persue legal action against me.  I asked for proof of who and where they were cashed.  She then told me that the signatue was illegible and they were cashed in a town 1-1/2 hours from me.  Theresa then told me that it was the money order that her fiance sent and not the $550.  She said it would take up to 30 days for Western Union to refund her the money.  This has been going on since APRIL 12, 2013.  It is now MAY 28, 2013 and still no payment has been made.

Also, I have all of my new owners sign a contract stating they will not sell the dog without letting me know, that way, if I can, I will take the dog back.  But Theresa and Colin have listed the dog on multiple sights, asking for more than $700 more than what they were SUPPOSED to pay.

I have been more than understanding and giving them the benefit of doubt in this matter.  I have ALL my email correspondence showing were she said she would pay, but has not.  At one point, her email address was deleted. I had to go through great lengths to find her. She told me that she did not think she would need to be in contact with me.  Really?  I still have not received payment, and she didn't think she needed to be in contact with me?!?!?
