I was looking for a chihuahua and found an ad in the PennySaver.

I contacted Pablo on May 1st and he said that he had 12 puppies for sale. When my family and I arrived we didn't see one that we wanted. The majority were males and the few females he had weren't the color I wanted. I explained to Pablo what I was looking for and he said that he had a litter in the back and that he had one female left that was the color we wanted. We waited in the front and he went to the back to bring the puppy out. She was only 2 weeks old so she wasn't ready to leave her mother yet. He said that he would hold her for us and that we could pick her up on May 29th. This would make her six weeks.

My husband, my children and myself went back 3 times to visit Tootsie (we already had a name picked out for her)before we finally picked her up on June 7th. She weighed 13oz. when we got her. The evening I brought her home I noticed she had worms really bad. Now mind you, I had never purchased a puppy this way and now I wish I hadn't but Pablo never explained anything to me except for the kind of food to feed her. He claimed that she had been eating hard puppy food for the last 2 weeks. He didn't mention anything about worms or her health or anything. He did say that the vet would not give her her shots yet because of her weight.

I took her to a vet on Sunday which was the next day to see about having her dewormed. This vet wouldn't deworm her because of her weight. She seemed to have somewhat of a appetite only on this day and she wasn't very active--she began to eat less on Monday and started vomitting--even less on Tuesday and on Wednesday I came home for lunch to feed her after stopping by the grocery store I picked her up some baby food but low and behold she had taken a turn for the worse. She was very lithargic and very weak. I phoned a vet and I was able to take her in within a few hours but she was very dehydrated.

I contacted Pablo and all he was willing to do was give me a beautiful deal on another puppy when he had one avail. I decided to have her treated, I thought that after she was on a IV for awhile and got rid of the worms she would be nursed back to health by the care of the vet and everything would be okay. But unfortunately $500.00 and 3 days later she died. She had severe worm infestation and died from a catastrophic seizure that she had on Wednesday. The diebetes is heredetary. I found out when we picked her up that Pablo allows the dogs to breed indiscriminately.

When I contacted Pablo again to let him know that Tootsie had died, all he could say is that he'd give me a beautiful deal on another puppy and I asked one more time if that was all he was willing to do for me and he replied "yes". I have done some extensive research on the rights of consumers when purchasing a puppy and in the state of California I legally had 15 days to take the puppy to a vet to have it certified as unfit and I could either take the animal back and get another puppy or have it treated by a vet and the breeder is responsible for 150% of the vet bill. I am having some trouble though in finding out who enforces this law. I need to know if it is the Dept. of Agriculture or the Animal Control?

Any info from anyone would be helpful and if anyone is looking to purchase a chihuahua and looks at the ads in the PennySaver--beware of the ad:

I apologize Mike that I called you Ignorant and annoying and was rude on the subject of My mothers kennel. I do however want to point out you accused her of being something that she was not. Being rude to April, Hardly, I dont know her, I am not trash and it was rude of her to say something so nasty about me. I am not a Bussness associate of Debra Drury ,I dont even have her phone number, I have shipped puppies for her- years ago. I am sorry that the only way you have ever seen me is when I am defending my self. I am a member of 2 local horsemens clubs, and I moved from Modesto to Manteca just to take care of my 80+ year old Grandparents, and help take care of there animals. I try my best to be handy, that is what life is about right, filling in the gaps? I was attempting in my first reply to this comment to help, not be a pain. I promise I won't agian. I am young, so please for give my Lack of Tact, I felt threatened by being called Trash, which I am not. I think it was a mistake in the first place for me to be involved in this website, and I do appoligise for name~calling and hurtfull coments. As For Doing all I can for theses puppies, I cant. They are not in my hands, I did not sell them , nor do I own the parents.I talked to my Mom and she said she did offer a refund, I cant help what the other people say or the fact she waited so long to call Mom. When I had a defect , the puppy was returned to me, I had it tested by my vet, I returned the peoples money and had the poor pup put down. It was my first one in 7 years that I have been breeding. That was a German Shepherd, they dont have as many defects as small dogs do. I feelt bad for the pup, and bad for the people, but the Vet assured me it was a fluke, 1 in 1/1000 chances that it would happen agian in the same parents.Did I fight with the people? No. I cryed. It was sad. It is now my Policy that people have there pups looked at by there vet within 2 days, that way if something is ary I can fix it, or replace there dog before they get too attached. Mike, dont be mad, You realy dont know me, nor my mother. I was rude and I apologize. I dont want to respond any more, Its giving me chest pains. What's Your Beef April? Sugar N Spice and Chidolls and Babydollpup is her Beef

#3Consumer Suggestion

Whisper I know what April's beef is. Your mother sold her a sick puppy. Did you forget? I read it here on ripoff report. Dawn Dalyce of Sugar N Spice Chichuahua sold April a puppy with luxating patella. April had surgery on her puppy. At her own expense. She received nasty hate mail not only from your mother but from Debbie Drury of Chidolls. So what do you think her beef is if not that? Well there is another beef she has too. She did not receive the proper registration papers did she? When she asked for them your mother told her that she did not qualify for them because the pup was not hers to sell. She sold it for another breeder. A friend. Guess who the friend was Whisper? If you and your mother are not involved with Chidolls, who has now changed her name to Babydollpup, why did Debbie send email to April? Hateful, mean email. Reading all of these reports about these two businesses and the way you respond in these ripoff reports makes the buyers stories even more authentic. You are publicly nasty on these reports I bet you are even less inclined to be nice in private emails if this is how you behave in public. They all say that you have sent these emails. In all the reports I have read here, save one, you have not helped the buyer. The one woman that was helped was the most determined it seems. She did not back down to the tactics you use on your unhappy buyers. It seems she was determined enough to pursue you and ignore your hate. When your tactics didnt work on her what did you do? It says right in her ripoff against Chidolls that she got a refund. Good for her is all I can say. She did what each and every one of these buyers should be doing. She notified the public with her report and then she pursued it to the end. A refund is what she got. What she should have gotten from the get-go just like these poor women. Initially I came to ripoff report to look around. Since then, I have been publicly attacked as well. So now I have a beef too. All I can say to these ladies is Thank-you for taking the time to tell the public about your experiences. Thank-you for protecting my wife and myself from these (ladies). I have a question. It seems that you can take these (ladies) to court and get your money back. Why don't you? You have already taken the first step and put yourself out to public abuse. You have been kind enough to educate future buyers. Can you go the one step further and help the puppies that are not bred yet? One of the reports said to hit them in the pockebook. If they had to pay out every single time they would eventually start helping the client from the get-go. The bitches would be bred with more care. The ones that are producing these genetic problems would be spayed. Whisper, you can deny it all you like, but you and your business associates are the garbage that April says you are. It is clear everytime you rebutt. You are crude, rude and have no feeling for anything save the money. You are hateful and spiteful. Please respond to me and dont hold back. Let everyone know how much class you have. If you really cared about these puppies you would do everything in your power to make them better. Not have an online catfight.

I have My own Breeding dogs ,I cover my own Guarntees, and People Love my German Shepherds. One this year so far is going to grow up to be a SAR dog. The SAR Lady came and helped me ( because I wanted her to pick out her pup first) judge the personalitys on the pups, she was impressed by our testing and guaretnees. How is that trash? How am I trash because I care so much for My Kids I stay home? Do you stay home April? Do your kids feel loved and cared for ? Are you highly paid at your job just to justify being away from your kids and animals? You married April? You ever made a mistake? Why are you pointing a finger at me and calling me trash- you dont know me? That was just wrong and mean, and If I where to find out whom you where I would be pointing right back! Yes I bought a Chihuahua female for breeding From a gal in Modesto that lives by the Arco on Standiford and Tully,( She had Nice Sable parents that where real Mexican imports) and had her covered by one of my Mothers Champions sired Males, Sold the puppies , reconized that the mother was not a good mother, and got her a new home with some one whom would love her. How is that a bad thing, after seeing that was not a good Idea I stopped, way too much work nursing babys and keeping them warm, and there so delicate! Not to mention my kids couldn't even play with the babys, I was so nervous they would get hurt! That was 4 years ago! GET OFF IT! I am not Trash. I live on 2 acres with horses and my husband is a Handyman. You want more info on me Look me up. How am I trash? Your an Idiot. Assuming only makes you an A$s. What's your Beef April? Why don't you make a surprise visit April, I am sure you will be happy to see my dogs healthy and exuberant and my horses happy. If your just spitefull then poo on you. Deborah, The reason you recognize Whisper's name is because she is the daughter of Dawn Dalyce. She is also breeding partners with Debbie Drury - the breeder who sold you your sick puppy! Like I said in my other post, these women are garbage - Stay Away From Them!!

Hi Debra, i am sorry it took so long to get back to this responce. Yes this is my real name. I am no longer a Chihuahua breeder, because My female I was breeding was not calm enough( she was 8 lbs but not a good mommy). She was also found a home , and I just have my German Shepherds now Moxie and Gypsy both Breeding Females, and I am trying to place one with another breeder. Yes My Name is Familiar, I am known by alot of diffrent dog breeders, search and rescue(whom buy from me) , some police k9 officers, and some Vets (I go to alot),My Buyers that are like Family to me ,horsemens clubs (I am active in) ,( I even think the Walmart People know me by name now :) , and try to give good advice when ever I can. I am aware of You Debra, and Sorry of what you had to go threw with your baby Chihuahua, I just wish you and The other Deb could have gotten a beter luck of the draw.. I personaly dont think any breeder (at least that I know) is out to throw problems in to the world, But along the way there are going to be problems, its how you handle them that matters. I have had my share, and fixed them. My main job is to care for my 3 kids, my second is my ranchette. But on the side I help other breeders give shots, or wormings, or even shipping to people like you - its not much , but we make due. Ohh, and I have made stupid coments on this Ripoffreport , that make me want to bury my head in the sand, all I can do is look back and bang my head real hard on the desk and say.." what was I thinking?", even horrid spelling mistakes. As of yet they wont let me unpaste..lol As for Animal Planet , they have a website - try google. Animal court is much like peoples court, and it is a neat show I was watching at the time i read the first coment( another reason to bang my head)- not much tv watching now that 2 of my kids are in school. I just found out about the Puppy Lemon Law about 3 years ago, and I use it when I sell a puppy, print it out and make them sign it, tell them there options. But I give every buyer a longer guarentee on top of that..Its the least I can do as some genetic things dont just pop up right away.. Did either one of you people end up with another dog? If so I hope you are happy, and have filled the hole in your heart.

Hi Whisper, I would like to know more about animal court. Can you explain to me what you mean please? Also, I get the impression you are a breeder? Can you give me some details on where to find your ads and address? Your name sounds VERY familiar to me. I wonder where I have seen it before? Hmmmm..... I find your remarks very interesting. And very accurate. I too think this buyer should take the breeder to court. I wish this buyer the best. I am very sorry to hear about this baby. My condolences.

I am soo sorry for your loss, as an animal lover , and Animal care specialist I can see the problem as clear as a bell! First of all, yet the puppy had worms, as all puppys do.He probably gave it a medicine for the worms and when you brought your baby home she expelled them, You seen them and got worried. Yes they are big! And when you went to your vet they said she was too little. Realy at 2 weeks I worm all my puppies, Chihuahua's and German Shepherds. Its all in the dosage, so if a vet says they cant then there ignorant. Your puppy was too young to go home. I never sell a Chihuahua before it's 12 weeks because they have very week immune systems. Also they get Hypoglacimic, low blood suger because they need to eat so offen. The food has to be appealing, and soft or easy to chew. The Diabeties you mention probably was misdiagnosed by an non breeder Dr. Now you know. Also Try Animal Planet and look for Animal Court, they may fly you out for a show! You can take care of this matter in civial court in your town. If he does not show it will be a automatic judgment aginst him. He should have given you another puppy for free.
