Jevene.com Provided dead-end contact info, responded to e-mail under different company name Tarzana California
On 9/23/04 I was online and responded to a pop-up window offer from productresearchpanel.com which promised a free computer just for taking "surveys". I took the bait and progressed through a series of steps which involved signing up for free samples of products and/or services with the option of cancelling their subsequent auto-ship program within 2 weeks to avoid being charged further. Since they all listed contact info, I signed up for three such offers. Two of them kept their word. Jevene. com did not.
They sent me the free sample of their face ceam. On Friday, 10/1/04 I called their number and got a recorded message saying they were closed. On Monday 10/4/04 I called four or five times throughout the day and got a busy signal. Finally at 2:45 PM I got a recorded message saying they had a high call volume and to leave a message, which I did. The recording stated that a representative would get back to me within 2 business days.
I started to get a bad feeling so I went online and sent an e-mail giving order ID and all pertinent info and stating that I wished to cancel my order. I received an e-mail later that same day from a business called "Lift-Visage" saying that they were confirming my request to cancel my membership, my account was deactivated and no further orders were to be sent to me.
I assumed that Lift-Visage was connected somehow to Jevene.com (since I knew lift-visage was also a manufacturer of beauty cream products.) Just in case, however I kept trying to call Jevene over the next several days but kept getting either busy signals or a message which said "this voice mail box is full. Please try again later."
Then on Friday 10/15 I logged onto my bank account and discovered that they had charged me $55.90 at the worst possible time and because of that, the bank charged me a $32.00 insufficient funds fee. Angry, I went to the Jevene.com site where there was now a link to the cancellation area and I filled it out.
But by now it wasn't within the 2 week period. Jevene gave me dead end contact info and then somehow lift-visage who I never ordered anything from confirmed my request for cancellation in response to the e-mail I sent to Jevene! Obviously, they are part of the bigger scam called productresearchpanel.com
