Jim Mclaughlin / Lynnway Truck Center/ JME Towing JME Towing They stuck me in a catch 22, showed no flexibility, and gave clear indications of being underhanded and untrustworthy. Lynn, Massachusetts
My car was leaking gas when I was at Revere Beach so AAA wouldn't tow
it. These guys showed up to tow it for me. Right off the bat I knew they
would charge $133 for storage, but I asked them if they could diagnose
the problem and they said they would. Turns out the diagnostic cost
almost $300. Then to fix the problem they were going to ask for about
$700 total. I told them I can not afford this. Especially since they
will not be flexible about reducing the towing cost or anything else.
But now I'm in a catch 22. Either I pay $400 for essentially nothing, or
I pay them $700 for a new gas tank (which can be purchased for $90).
They have also been extremely rude to me, when all I'm doing is pleading
with them to not rip me off. If it wasn't for AAA not towing the car, I
would never have brought it to them. Out of all the mechanics I've
ever dealt with this company is by far the worst.
Also, when I was just asking about reducing the cost, they showed anger and disregard for the fact that I can not afford their costs. I am willing to negotiate within reason, especially knowing the true cost of the part and the amount of labor necessary for the job. But they showed me that THEY are in control, that I will have to play by their rules, and that if I don't like it, THEY will be the ones calling the shots. They essentially hijacked my car. But in fact all I did was to reasonably ask if we could work something out. At the least, this poor level of customer service and the lack of even a pretense of sympathy is alarming and raises other questions about the quality of service they will perform, and the fact of whether they can be trusted at all. DO NOT bring your car
to them under any circumstances. The towing company is JME towing, and the mechanic they use is: Jim
Mclaughlin / Lynnway Truck Center.
