Jk Harris Co. promised to settle tax debt for pennies on the dollar Deceptive advertising all lies Salt Lake City Utah
JK Harris promised to settle tax debt. They charged me $1750.00 in filing fees. I also gave them $500.00 to be given to the IRS as a settlement.
They(jk harris)supposedly submitted one offer to the IRS, which was denied. They guaranteed verbally that they would pursue it until settlement was achieved.
No further offers were submitted by jk harris and neither the filing fees or the settlement fee were returned.
Now, 2 years later I recieved a letter of "receipt and general release" stating that they(jk harris)would return $1050.00 with no mention of the $500.00 settlement fee which was never given to the IRS.
They expect me to sign this "release" relieving them of all responsability and\or debt. I don't think so.
My checks have been levied and I have had to try to deal with the IRS myself to try to straighten this mess out. I believe I am entitled to have all fees returned and should also recieve compensation for the mental anguish, lost wages due to having to take time off from work to deal with the IRS, having to take a second job to try to make ends meet and punitive damages to let them (jk harris)know that they can't continue to rip people off and get away with it.
