Won the ebay bid for a replacement laptop LCD screen 09/05/08 for $83.00 Used PayPal to transfer funds (ALWAYS whenever possible). Received by USPS on 09/17/08 tested failure/broken. E-mailed contact to return for refund. Accepted terms and UPS back to Toledo, OH by 09/23/08.

Waited until 10/26/08 to make next e-mail contact as to why the delay? He says file the claim with PayPal for quick response. PayPal claim period ends at 60 days. Recontact by e-mail and he says he'll send me a money order. Wait until 11/30/08, no money order...

Contact by e-mail offer to pickup in person while visiting friends and family during the holidays. "He" finds my tone offensive and threatening and claims to make report to local police for protection. I e-mail a prompt to get it together and expect me along with Santa Claus or simply send me my money now!

I have since found several other ebay buyers going back to 2004 who have had the same treatment from this scammer. Don't do any kind of business with this guy unless you have money to burn...

Stay tuned for more holiday news...

Hello again, I appologigze about the typo in the previous rebuttal. It is supposed to say hello all, not hell all. Also look at tdd101978. I have over 500 positive feedback 3 neutral and 3 negative since 2004. If I had so many dissatified customers don't you think that I would have lots more negative feedback? I offer untested or only semi-tested items at starting bids of 99 cents, with offers accepted. However I also offer the items as-is since they are untested. I accepted Roberts return only to make it right for him. And in return I got a big headache. Now logically why would I have even accepted the return if I did not plan to send his refund, since I could have easily have said "the item was bought as-is with no warranty" and not have bothered. I was trying to be a good guy and make the transaction right with him, as I do with all my customers. Matthew JLM's Stuff Toledo, OH

Hell all, Since I found this a day ago, I have contemplated how to respond to this. So first off I figured I would fill in the details that were left out. I had listed the screen as partly tested as-is not full tested, because I did not have a machine to test it on. Robert contacted me almost a moth after the sale saying it was broken, and that he would like a refund. Going aginst me as-is statement I said I would accept it back for a refund. I got the item a week later and tested it just as I had before and got the same result. I messaged him 3 times and got no responce. So I waited for him to contact me. When he did I did indeed tell him to file a Paypal claim to get his money back, not remembering that the limit was 60 days. Once he contated me again and reminded me, I told him I would have a money order to him ASAP. I got the money order and sent within the week. I also had Delivery confirmation added to the item, even though I did not tell him that. I kept tabs on it and it arrived in 3 day to FL. I did not hear from him again for almost another month. ANd he was asking where his money was. I told him it was sent, and to check with his neighbors and the post office to see if it got held at one of those. After another week he responded again and told me he was going to be up for the Christrmas holiday and he would pay me a special visit if I did not send the money now. I took 2 days to respond, in that time I printed his e-mail and took it to both the local athorities and the FBI. The local athorities issued a protection order aginst him and the federal athorities took his threat serious enough that I was told by the agent that should he show up at my door he would be put into federal custody immediatly. Once I informed him of that I did not receive any more comunicate from him. Even though after thinking about it, since I did offer him a refund that he claimed not to get, I offered to allow him to come to my house and pick-up another screen that I had tested. And he did not even respond to that. And also I resold the screen that he claimed did not work, and got no complaint, or claim of non-working. Matthew JLMs Stuff Toledo, OH
