I am a former employee of Joe Bock... I am an Electrician and Carpenter by trade. As we know, our economy has hit tradesmen very hard. Recently I have worked with associates to help fill in while I am not working as an electrian or as a carpenter. Joe and I were good friends until recently. I always brought Joe in on projects that I would work on. Mostly comercial projects. Joe alwways hits the ground running at the start of any project... Usually the rough in phase of any project he does well. Only because he usually requires a hefty down payment. Getting Joe to come back and finish his work though... that is a whole different ball game. He doesnt return phone calls or answer his phone and puts his customers off that owe him smaller amounts of money... Often stringing projects out way passed the agreed time alotment. I worked for Joe on two occasions. Joe always made sure that his lifestyle wouldnt be affected by paying his employees. His employees always are on the bottom of his list as well as customers that have either payed alot in advance or have any warrantee issues. I enede up taking care of some issues at the end of a job at the RANI building in loves park when he was asked for two weeks to come back.
10 days ago I suffered a catostrophic injury to my hand on my own project. I needed surgery to repair my injured hand. I needed my pay from him as part down payment to my surgeon. Pay that was more than a month and a half overdue. I had only given him friendly reminders up to this point that i needed my pay. I was very patient.... On the day of my surgery he was to deliver my money as he had promised. He wouldnt even answer his phone to tell me yes or no if he had it or not!!! A two yr friendship... and he couldnt even answer his phone. He didnt even have the balls to tell me he wasnt going to pay me. A liar and a coward!!!
Imagine how he will treat you as a customer. Try and get him to finish work will be like pulling teeth!!
If you do decide to use him... get a material list. Buy your own materials. dont give him a dime till he is done!!! and expect that his work will not come with a warrantee
Also get his house #
