Joe Cooper Ford Tulsa Financing Scam if you don't buy warranty! Tulsa, Oklahoma
I purchased a new F150 from Joe Cooper Ford in Tulsa Nov. 2011. I made a deal on my trade, finance rate, rebate amounts etc. They typed up my paperwork and sent me on my way. AFter owning the truck for almost 30 days I got a call from the lien holder on my trade in stating they had not paid it off. I called the F&I guy several times and the General Manager Kip Karnes twice. Finally I get a call from the Finance dept. stating I had to come back and re-do my paperwork that one of my rebates no longer applied.
I already insured the truck, bought accessories etc. and could not believe they expected me to come back in and pay $1500 more for my truck that I had already done the deal on previously. I met the General Manager at the lot Kip Karnes who stated they just discovered the issue and they could nothing about it unless I paid the additional $1500. I got my trade back and a copy of the Paper work. I drove to Bill Knight Ford showed them my copy.
They said all rebates applied and that I was approved for the interest rate through Ford Motor Company. They sold me a more expensive truck for the same deal and finalized it that evening. I was furious, I had to hurry and make an additional payment on my trade that they held for 30 days. When I made the deal the F&I guy was furious that I did not buy the extended warranty or GAP. I know this is why they held my paperwork. They should have their doors closed for this type of conduct. Beware as I have had several people tell me they were called back to renegoitate after leaving with their vehichles.
