Although my experience is with another JRP office, it is much the same as what Rizingson described. We were told that there was going to be an audition, and nothing was mentioned about school or money until they already had us in their office. That is misleading and bad practice. I do not chose to judge other JRP offices, or say that their classes are not worth the cost since I have never taken them. However the sales tactics that I have experienced, and since read about online are dishonest and again, misleading. I personally choose not to do business with people like that. I also believe, after reading many rebuttals by Miss Tamela and staff, that the JRP employees seem to know how far they can go without crossing the line into being illegal. They defend themselves so well against all of these complaints by knowing what they can and cannot do or what they should or should not do. Just a little fishy to me. For all of the people that you have helped kick off their career, congratulations. I truely think that is wonderful. But I suggest looking for a more honest way of getting your clients in the future.

As far as having modeling and acting credentials, did you ask to see them before you were contracted? we never claimed any credentials and if you ever even read the contract, we never claim to be a MANAGEMENT, we are an ACADEMY. and Pamela, myself, should not have even been included in this report. I DO have experience in the modeling industry, actually, in HIGH FASHION. I never claimed any credentials, I am simply a SECRETARY. Before you go making false accusations you should probably do some research. we are no scam, yes we do bring in agencies and its actually your fault if you or your kid does not get signed. obviously you should probably have nothing to do with this industry if you are so concerned with the investment you put into it. we offer classes, you never had to sign a contract, and its your fault for not reading it before signing.

1st, Global310, your aggressive responses to Ms. Monica are quite amusing to me, seeing as to how you have stated that you have no experience with JRP yourself. All you know is that it bugs you that people complain about their experience, and take it upon yourself to put them down. To you, it may in fact be obvious that JRP is a school, and i will give you a gold star and a happy face for your intelligence. But everybody isn't blessed with the same wisdom and intelligence as yourself, and these are the people that JRP preys upon. I have myself been convinced to show up for one of these "auditions", but I knew better than to pay such a fee for this scam. You are correct, JRP is a school, and I noticed that Tamela stated so clearly in her defense. However that isnt how you represent yourself. from my experience, i was walking throught the mall, and a gentleman walked up to me with his jaw dropped to the floor asking me questions like "are you a model? NO?? you never thought about it? well here let me give you my card, i am holding auditions next week and you really should look into pursuing a career in acting or modeling. please be there." Then when you call they give you a date to show up and like monica said, its just a sales pitch. Back then I was younger and knew zero about the business, and these are the people Ms. Tamela targets, not saavy and seasoned actors that have been around the block like Mr global.... because people like him won't fall for your sales pitch, right? make sense? JRP promises success and stardom, and doesn't say anything about it being a school or costing money until days after you finish your "audition" and get a call back. Now at that point, those that still pay the money, well thats your fault monica, because anybody should realize that out of lucille ball, and all the other entertainers that went to JRP, and every entertainer theat didn't, NOBODY that has been successful without putting in any kind of hard work or paying their dues at some point. Its never gonna be as easy as paying $1k and take a class for a few weeks, then after that you've "made it". But I do empathize with you and others that have been scammed in this way. Bottom line, JRP gets its money through deciet, and you guys know it. Otherwise you wouldn't have so many complaints now would you. I mean, I never heard of any scam stories such as these about any other school OR agency out there... and I doubt that there is a secret club out there thats sole purpose is to conspire and defame John Robert Powers. your reputation is the one you built for yourself.

1- I think you should state your real name . Why are you afraid to back what you are stating? 2- What did Ms. tamela do wrong ? 3- If you don't like Ms. Marylnn's line of make-up...Don't buy it. 4- The fruit mix she suggest to people is actually a popular colon cleaser. You take the fiber pills and drink the drink for the extra vitimins and it detoxes your body. She only sugest it to you if your over the age of 18 or if under age, the parent must consent to this. If you don't want to take it , Then Don't. 5- Ms. tamela knew NOTHING of this award dinner until the last minute and did not approve of it. So, If you were unhappy with it, Then ask Ms. Marylnn for your money back. 6- Yes, Jay Doe. Ms. Tamela has an awesome background of over 20 years in the industry. PERIOD ! 7- Lastly, I absolutely agree with you. No Manager should EVER ask for money up front. They pay you ! John Robert Powers is a School !

Thanks...for rebutting me. I guess you must have felt that you now know enough about me to make presumtious statements about me too huh? Directing all of your negative inflamatory words against me now huh? Your the one writing the negative garbage. It will be here for a long time for people to read so maybe someday when you learn the difference between fact and fiction you can come and see it for yourself 1st hand. If the had legitimate complaints against John Robert Powers...why would they need to tell all these tall tales? The facts would be more than enough information. No spin would be necessary. Yt in story after story on here....you can clearly see the exagerations and lies. Listening to someone blame someone else for their problems does not illicit respect and empathy in any sane person. SO start seeing the bigger picture.

Look at how you take my words and spin them. Spin is the exact same thing as B.S. The only reason I got involved in this discussion is because these people are complaining about a highly succesful company. And these stories reak of B.S. accross the board. Their "stories" are full of highly charged words...loaded with insinuations using a bunch of angry, judgemental, emotional exagerations meant to pull on your heart strings....like babies crying...wha..wha..wha...Unfortunately it tends to have the opposite effect listeners who use reason and are rational. Truly objective people are inclined to despise whiney, lying (exagerating), losers. I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about....but don't worry. some day you will. When you grow up.

You said you never attended JRP...so how would you know it isn't a scam? There are scam artists out there who are ready to take advantage of anyone they can.
The people named in the report above ARE such people. If you did a little research, you'd know that all of these JRP school's are franchisees and that a good persentage of them are crooks. There may be good ones out there, but the bad ones have given the entire company a bad rep.
Did you know that a JRP employee calls you and tells you that you're wanted to audition for a comercial? They never say ANYTHING about auditioning for a school, which is what you're REALLY doing.
It's the classic bait and switch tactic. You can berrate the victims of this crime all you want but that doesn't change the fact that innocent people have been scammed.
Instead of rubbing your "success" in everyone's faces an acting like an arrogant fool, you should show a little more respect and compassion.

JRP Talent is a school and NOT and Agency. They also create oppourtunities for people who live in the "boondocks" to get seen by casting directors, talent agents, and talent managers. What part of this do people not understand. I laugh when I hear all of these "sour grapes" stories from people who couldn't cut it at JRP Talent. Believe me, if you can't make it through the acting and developement courses that John Robert Powers offers (YES for a fee...wow shocking) then you are are not going to cut in this business period. If you are living somewhere other than Hollywood ( i.e. you live in the middle of nowhere) and you have no training or skills...JRP Talent is simply the only opportunity you are going to have.
I see a lot of complaints about John Robert Powers on the internet and they are usually very emotional and offer a lot of scathing criticism ...yet I never hear about how these complainers went on and found a better way...or got discovered, or found someone to pay their way, or found someone to give them free acting classes, or got an agent to represent them with no previous experience or training....The only thing I hear them saying is that that they quit and gave up. Then they get on the internet and blame John Robert Powers for crushing their dreams and for their miserable lives.
I myself have never attended JRP. I am however, an actor who has been around the block. Several times. Acting takes more dedication, persistance, and talent than any other occupation out there. With no guarantee of success or even pay. JRP Talent uses the images from previous clients who went on to stardom in their marketing materials. My question is ....where are the success stories from all those people who dropped out of John Robert Powers? There are none because they are they are just a bunch of quiters. Hollywood is about survival of the fittest. JRP Talent trains people for success and naturally some people are not going to have what it takes. Sorry.
