Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This is by far the worst experience with a tow truck company EVER!!! I experienced a blown out tire on the I90 by Woodfield Mall so I googled the nearest tow company near me. Jonny's Towing is the first one on the list and it advertised towing at $65. Additionally, they advertise that they take credit cards, but once I was hooked up the Driver, William, said that they only take CASH because no one is in the office.... When I called and talked to the owner John, he said they do take credit, but not debit cards... I do not understand how a "Credit Card" is a debit card... I was not trying to pay for this with a debit card to begin with for the ridiculous charges they they were charging me. TOTAL RIP OFF. What I also find ridiculous is that they charge "In Route Miles" to drive from the last place they dropped off their last tow to me and I do not understand why should I pay for this, no other tow truck company has ever done this to me. I ended up paying $320.00 CASH which I did not anticipate prior to being hooked onto the truck.. The break down is like this $195.00 for a tow service, $50 for miles towed (10 miles), $75.00 for in route miles (15 miles). If you ask me I think they are just not trying to report the revenue for tax purposes, but that's just me.  I do not know what kind of business they are trying to run over there, but it seems shady. I will follow up with a complaint to the Better Business Bureau to discuss this poor excuse of ownership and business practices over there. STAY AWAY FROM JONNY'S TOWING UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF.

Hopefully you have a receipt for the cash you paid to the tow company. I agree with you, it is possible that the owner of the tow company is under reporting his income to the US Treasury. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to not accept a credit card payment.

To help you in the future, get AAA or other legitimate roadside assistance membership company. The annual membership fee is very, very reasonable even for their Plus Service and you can pay via credit card. There are all kinds of services available and the tow truck companies seem professional and above board, at least they are that way when I have used the service over the past 15+ years. In addition to that, you can save many times the cost of the fee with the card discounts offered everywhere.

Don't risk being in the situation you were in without some coverage by some legitmate company that vetts their towing and other automotive services. Good luck in getting this issue resolved.
