 Thinking of investing in North East Brazil?DON'T. BUYER BEWARE! Myself and my clients invested $2M in 2007 on 2 lands, through Imobiliária Flavio Parente Ltda address R. Lívio Barreto, 1272 - Dionísio Torres, Fortaleza - CE, 60130-110, Brazil. Represented by Jan/Jon Chilian a German National (Reviews on Pissed Consumer now known as a fraudster, he also had a company Beachfront Brazil) Also Flavio Parente Sr, Bruno Parente, Carlos Parente they also have a company called Impar Engenharia, address Rua Lívio Barreto, 1272 - Dionísio Torres, Fortaleza - CE, 60170-002, Brazil. They introduced me to their Lawyer Rui Barais Leal Farais address R. do Pocinho, 33 - Centro, Fortaleza - CE, 60055-120, Brazil who was supposed to represent me, however, turned out he was working for them & released my funds to these people without my knowledge or Authority, he knowingly led me into a 10 year NIGHTMARE situation, still ongoing. I am out a further $250,000+ in additional legal fees, accountants fees, taxes on the land etc.

They all knowingly sold overpriced compromised land to Foreigners as the next big thing emerging market, the contract stated they would obtain planning permission for me within 6 months for my large land, that didn't happen, then they went to ground, could not get hold of them. I hired Veraino Advogados one of the largest Lawyer groups in Brazil to oversee the purchase at a cost $60,000. They did NOT protect me as a Direct Foreign investor, the negligence is incredible. The bureaucracy & corruption in Brazil unfathomable. I confirmed with my Attorney Lucia Arragao by email "Am I 100% safe to make this purchase", she replied yes! The truth is the boundaries of the land are in question, the land has been invaded by locals who steal portions of your land, if not removed within 5 years they can keep the land.

I contacted Ronaldo Veraino by email to discuss this and what I believe is blatant negligence, his respponse was effectively so what, say anything negative about his firm and he would make things difficult for me!! The legal system is non existent, I spent 5 years on one legal matter still not resolved, spending a great deal of money. If you are NOT Brazilian investing in Northeast Brazil forget it! The business people will have you running round in circles getting nowhere, and I mean everyone even your Attorneys. Their only interest is relieving you of as much money as possible, you are a Gringo simple as that. Whatever they would charge a Brazilian they treble it. I cannot speak for other parts of Brazil, but my experience in Ceara Northeast Brazil i.e. Fortaleza is full of people like this, it is also extremely dangerous, murders rampant.

Having given up the grind and waring down so you go away, I called Imobiliária Flavio Parente Ltda and spoke to Flavio Parente jr, speaks good English and was not party to this transaction, as he was not working at the firm when I made the purchases, I told him all I had discovered and that I wanted my money back with interest, and that I would not be getting involved in litigation as I would be retired by the time it got anywhere, notwithstanding the fact, it has zero priority if you are a Foreigner, they don't want us there, fact! I asked he get his Brother Bruno to call me or email me to discuss a solution to the problem, prior to me publishing this report, that was Tuesday 21st March 2017, I have heard nothing and called them every day since and they are never in, surprise surprise! He confirmed Jon/Jan Chilian is back in Germany, to my knowledge he is also a US resident or citizen, spending time in Palm Beach and Miami. After screwing people on land sales,I heard he was selling oranges, then Diamonds, DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR MONEY. Or any of the others named. I have been to Brazil 30 times over the past 10 years so have a great deal of experience and knowledge, obviously the above is a summary, I have full and comprehensive information, emails, court information, etc.Please contact me before YOU DO anything at all!
