After trial in July, 2011 in Ottawa County MI Circuit Court, Case No. 2010-001787-CZ it was found that the factual allegations alleged on January 3, 2009 by someone else as Terryb were false and inappropriately placed Jon Rooks and Brad Gruizinga in a false light. The Court ordered the offending party to remove those factual inaccuracies

Sadly, Mr. Rooks sold and marketed his condos strictly on price. His marketing efforts reflected this concept, with many advertisements showing condos starting at $80,000. Many saw his low priced condos compared to other higher price condos as a "good deal". The same people did not realize, until after the fact, you get what you pay for. Now, many customers realize the importance of soundproof/fireproof wall assemblies, concrete between floors, covered attached parking and a safe neighborhood. These very same people, rightly so, complained and, to date, still complain. I'm not a customer of Mr. Rooks, and even I was threatened with a lawsuit about voicing my concern over high maintenance fees at the Boardwalk condo project. I can see why Terry B. decided to conceal his identity. For Mr. Rooks or his agents to deny the authenticity of these complaints or the existance of this being a real customer, when, in fact, only a real customer would know these intimate details, is a desperate attempt. Mr. Rooks in his reply fails to mention that any honorable award given for Union Square was only received prior to completion of Union Square and relied on zero customer feedback. Finally, I believe it would be best to simply ask Parklands' customers if they are happy with their condos and then make your own determination.

This is Parkland's first and last written response to the anonymous individual who posted untrue and libelous comments on this site. We have no record of a customer by this name in our database. Parkland Properties develops and/or markets communities where neighbors share common areas, dreams, and various interests. In addition to creating new housing opportunities, we build relationships. Many of our homeowners say it is the elevator rides, the lines at the coffee shop, or hanging out around the pool and hot tub area, where they have discovered new friends and a treasured life niche in our urban communities. Government and community leaders, along with local and national media, consistently reference Parkland Properties award-winning projects and the successful renaissance from historic buildings into vibrant, cool, urban communities. We are proud of our recent state sales record (370 customized condos in 3 years- no two alike) and we've often been told our rapid sell-out rates are due to excellent product and appropriately priced real estate for the market. Analysis of our closings prove two additional factors: repeat business by existing buyers and many referrals of friends and family by existing clients. While an individual's concerns are relevant, in fairness, we must set a standard of practice, align expectations, and come up with solutions that appeal to the majority of our condo-owners. We listen attentively to our customers and try our best to resolve all legitimate issues. We are committed to maintaining maximum harmony and maximum real estate value in the best interest of the homeowners and we honor our obligations. The owner of Parkland Properties, plus the majority of the staff at Parkland, have owned or currently own a home in each of our communities. Along the way, our company has developed many friends and supporters through on-going relationships with clients. Most homeowners reach out directly to us in order to effectively and appropriately voice their concerns or suggestions. We hope the anonymous author of this disparaging post will do the same, so that we can resolve any legitimate concerns and come to a common ground. We encourage the author or authors to contact us directly at [email protected] or 616.988.6469.

I would suggest contacting the BBB of Western Michigan and file a complaint. This man associates himself with a lot of snakes like Curt Gano of Tracy, Inc. and Micheal Vorce to name a few. I would also file a complaint with Grand Rapids Association of Realtors.
