Complaint Review: Jonathan Trent - Madrid Spain 28013 Select State/Province

I am writting to the victim of this report to let this person know i am also a victim of this SCAM!!!!!!!. This offer was too good to be true, but there was very legit information behind this. I did not want to post anything, but i wanted to respond to find out if there's anyway to get in touch with this person that wrote this report to see what she did about this situation. This scamer feed me the exact same story. I found this add on the craig's list. I am a 19 year old independent female whose in college and has two jobs. My parents CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY ME A VEHICLE. I thought I had came across a very good deal. I had save up enough money to buy a vehicle. I sent $2900.00 dollars to purchase a 2006 silver Honda to the same person, but this time he possed as Lt. Marc Evans. I failed to research this man only after i had sent the money through western union to the fake ebay motors also. It took me $135 dollars just to send it to a fake ebay motor agent by the name of samuel johnson. The supposedly Marc Evans had the same address Calle Arenal 1545 Madrid,Spain. The western union supposedly couldn't let me send a password with the money because it would not work with spain. The red flags were right there in my face, but i so desperately need transportation and still does that I was too blind to see at that point and time. Thank God for researching and finding this website to let me know i had been scam before even waiting to recieve the car. I contacted ebay, western union, and the police. I still can't understand why ebay would have confirmation papers about something they know nothing about!!!!!!!!!!!! This man had a real vin number!!!! This all is crazy to me!!!!! This man has obvious ripped alot of people off. Now I have to try and work hard again to save money back up to purchase a car. I just really want my hard earned money back!!!!!!!!!! It's going to take me a while to try to attempt to purchase car ever again. I also want others to see that this is real and be careful. I have learned my lesson the hard way!!!!!! This man or whatever he is has to be put to a stop and something has to be done about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is the first email this scamer sent after replying to my message:

You have to know that the 2006 Honda Accord EX I am selling is 100% working and great looking, no flaws or dents, no scratches or any kind of damage. The title is clear. It has 68,730 miles.The VIN# 1HGCM56726A159576.

As I know that my current situation is pretty special I want the deal closed only through eBay's Buyer Protection Program in order for you to be 100% protected. You will make the payment to eBay and they will hold the money until you receive the car. ONLY AFTER you receive the car and inspect it (for 5 days) eBay will release the payment to me; in this way we are both protected. I am located in Madrid,Spain and I was sent here to improve the military relationships between our country and Spain. One month ago, my wife moved here with me and brought the car with her, but now we have to sell it back in the United States because In order to be able to register this car here, I would have to pay very high import/custom taxes. My final price on it is $ 2900. If you will take it for this price, I am willing to handle the shipping. It will be shipped from here by plane with US Air Military Cargo so it will not cost me anything. You will get it to the nearest airport in your area and then it will be trucked forward to your place. You will receive the car in about 4 days. Please get back to me asap if you decide to buy, and include in your e-mail your full name and address where you want it shipped so I can start the deal with eBay. You will receive all the transaction payment and shipping details from them.

Seriously? i saw this same guy on ebay motors and he sent me the same email, but I, unlike you realized that if something is too good to be true, IT IS!!! im sorry but this is all your fault, You got scammed, period. You have to be smarter with your money, and this is so obviously a scam its funny. I emailed him back saying i knew it was a scam and good luck finding some stupid american to believe you, and guess what!? looks like he did find that stupid american. I also reported him to the FTC and FBI, although im sure they did nothing about it, I mean really, if your so easily fooled by this scam you deserve to get scamed lol

First off, I want to tell you how sorry I am that this happened to you.

It's also sad that you were desperate & naive enough not to see the red flags that were apparent when you started contact with this man. The main red flag is that there's no way a Honda, any Honda, especially a newer model Honda would EVER sell for that cheap.  Obviously the car in the pics is not a $2900 car. Try $20,000, at least. Where did you find the ad for the car?  I'm going to guess that you found it on Craigslist.  This is a well known scam on there.  Did you even see or test drive the car before you purchased it? Did you meet this guy in person?  I'm also guessing that you didn't actually buy this car off of Ebay.  Ebay doesn't even use Western Union for a payment method, and for good reason.   When it seems to good to be true, IT ALWAYS IS.  With Western Union, you have absolutely no protection.  The truth of the matter is that Johnathan Trent/Bruce Hayes does not exist, is not in the Army, and is not stationed in Spain.  The whole thing is a hoax.  It's a hard lesson to learn. 

Nothing to do with this report but, I was not aware of any hostilities with Spain.

Did that not seem like obviously too low a price? the pictures prove it obviously wasnt a horrible piece of crap to have dropped all they way down to 2900 in just a couple years.

Too much time praying for help and not enough with a bluebook? I also see a mention of e-bay motors. Doesnt ebay have about 15 warnings NEVER to western union a payment?
