Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I fear for the public's safety if some of the staff- especially the owner- of Jonathan's Alterations are allowed to continue to conduct themselves as they were when I was alone in the store with them on the afternoon of Friday, February 13, 2009.

In summary, I went to the business to retrieve a dress that Jonathan's were supposed to have altered. When I arrived and looked at the work I noted that half of what I had requested had not even been done, making the dress unwearable (and I needed it that evening) The other half of the work had been attempted but was of horrible, sloppy quality, and will have to be undone and redone by someone else. The front line employee was getting ready to charge full price for this, but when I indicated the garment wasn't ready he immediately offered to let me talk to the owner, and I agreed.

I was shocked when the man who identified himself as the owner-identified on his business license as Jonathan Johnson-approached from the back of the business, raising his voice to me all the way through the store and attempting to argue about the dress's zipper, which wasn't even what I wanted to ask him about. As he got closer he began raising his open hand to me, and shaking his finger in my face while he continued his verbal rant. I asked Mr. Johnson if he realized he was raising his hand to me, told him I felt physically threatened, and if he did not cease I would be forced to call 911. Instead of backing off he became even more agitated and irrational, continuing to shake his hand in my face, and continuing his verbal rant, which left me with little doubt about his intentions. I would have called 911 myself at that time, but realized I did not have my cell phone with me. Mr. Johnson informed me he was going to call 911 and have me removed from the store for causing trouble. I wanted him to call because we clearly needed intervention at that time, but he instead only picked up his phone and made a loop around the store raising his voice irrationally the entire time.

Mr. Johnson then decided he would repair my dress at that time, picked it up and started to work on it, then, apparently due to his state of mind, promptly put my dress down, walked to the phone, called another employee and loudly told them that he needed help at the shop because (I) was there Giving them a hard time Mr. Johnson made several other inflammatory comments about me, loudly enough for me to plainly hear, to his employee on the phone. He did, however state that the employee coming to the store would repair my dress.

That was enough-I told Mr. Johnson again that I did not feel safe, went to my car and locked the doors, and waited to see if the work would be done.

I went back inside shortly before closing time, retrieved my garment, which not only was not any closer to being repaired, and had now actually been further damaged by some new stitching. The employee behind the counter at least agreed not to try to charge me, and I left.

In addition to the damages to the garment which I will have to pay someone else to do part of, I am a home health nurse, who gets paid per visit, and I lost the income of an entire visit, by having to wait at Jonathan's Alterations, when I had previously been told my dress would be ready at 3:00 p.m. that day.

When I arrived home that evening I was able to do enough of the needed work myself to make my dress wearable, however doing so required so much time that I was only able to be present for 45 minutes of a Valentine's dance which I had long been anticipating and had invested considerably more revenue in preparation for.
