Bob Jones runs a junk yard in Lake Havasu City, Arizona

I beg to differ if he is a mechanic. I don't think so.

I took my 85 Jeep there because he suposedly had a 97 motor for my jeep with low 37,000 miles. He promised to warrentee the motor if he did the installation. After the work was started he hem hawed about doing the warranty. I finally told him to just do the work

My time was running out.

He had estimated the work to be $900.00. He added on several parts bringing the cost to $1405.00 which I paid. The Jeep was leaving town anyway, I needed the motor and a slave cylinder fixed for the clutch too.

His que to rip off the customers parts from the jeep and replace them with his junk parts from the back lot.

The jeep was loaded on a trailer and transported to Utah.

On arrival, I first found the gas cap had been replaced, the rear view mirror inside was a busted one. The 85 oil dip stick was in the 97 engine where it is to long for the short pan. The motor was not running correctly. I found my Air cleaner had been replaced with an old greasy one, the Carburetor had been replaced with one that needed choked to make the engine run. The water pump was a rusty one that had been replaced in exchange with mine. The battery wire was never tightened up.

The alternator wire was loose and had not been tightened. The vaccum advance hose was connected to the firewall, Not the carberator.

Seems he was working for him self at the rate he said was $38.00 per hour. The Jeep sit under snow several months and it has been a while for me discovering the damages. He claimed he replaced the clutch and throw out bearing. I highly doubt that as we agreed the old one was in new shape. It sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders.

He claimed he had instaled new plugs. The old engine had new plugs that were new and not reqired. While I continured to look, my new radiator hose for the heater had been replaced with old hoses with burns in them.

When trying to report the crime, tt was solved by the Lake Havasu Police Crime Department. They did not hear the complaint in full. The thief will remain in business selling stolen goods. Sad to say a man can be so ignorant and do such damage and charge you $1405.00 and you Jeep leaving a junk yard near Junk. We have $6400.00 invested in a Junk Jeep now.

This is typical of Lake Havasu Business only at its worst
