My problem with Just Brakes has been going on for almost a year. I took my 1998 Chevy Silverado in for brakes to be done ($99.00 Friction Reline Special) on Feb. 10, 2001 to store # 19. They quoted my $909.73 and showed my everything that was "wrong". I was lucky and they took my extended warranty on my truck and then the price was only $345.30!

They changed out my Master Cylinder, brake pads and shoes, honed my rotors, new calipers, etc....I then brought it in for my 1,000 mile check in April and things were ok. By July 2001, I felt my brakes not working correctly. My master cylinder failed. They replaced that, honed my rotors again, paled the bearings, greased the seals and sent my on my way.

My brakes still were not right! 8/27/01, took it back in, my rotors were honed for a third time and then I was told that I needed shocks, because something was making my truck not run smoothly. They quoted me over $300.00 for shocks. I did not get them, because I did not need them after being checked out by another (trusted) mechanic. Truck brakes were still not right, took back into Just Brakes and the rotors were honed for a 4th time!

By this time I wrote an email to the company and rec'd a call from the store that did most of the work (#42). I talked with the mechanic that did the work and admitted to me that he did cut and turn my rotors one too many times and that I need new rotors now. I was livid! I was able to call the 800 number on the back of my receipt.

I talked to Bob Marshall in Customer Service. Not only was he rude, but quite cocky. I sent him everything in writing and the best I am getting is a $100.00 refund, for the new rotors that I had installed by my trusted mechanic. It is 12/11/01 and I can pick up my measly refund at the local store.

They are the worst company I have ever dealt with....count me in on the class action suit!
