I wish I had found this web site BEFORE I went to get my brakes done.
I had gone to a "mom and pop" shop 2 weeks prior to going to Just Brakes. I paid them $250 for a brake job, and when I took it back to them a week later because of a grinding noise, they told me It was my pads and I just needed to get used to it. So, I went to Just brakes to get someone who is an "expert" to do it properly.
I told them my story, they put my car up in the sky, invited me into their garage, and proceeded to explain to me all the things my car needed. One of which included new rotors. I told them I just bought new rotors, but they assured me that the ones I just bought were too thin to machine rotate (although they were GM factory ordered parts and looked brand new to me) and that I needed new ones or my car would wreck and my kids would die.
The total estimate was over $700 bucks. I told them to just worry about the front brakes, which brought the cost down to $475 - Due to the fact that my "caliper seal was leaking" and with this "problem" - my new rotors will only last me a month before they burn off of my car - literally - they will show you examples of parts laying around the counter.
After finding this site - I realize I was taken for a ride. My rotors were new, and a new pad job would have only cost me $95 anywhere else. SPREAD THE WORD! They send these guys to special schools to teach them what to say to get you to feel obligated to use their services. I feel like a donkey.
