Can you tell if it is a fake or not? These projectors go for thousands.

I also have seen these guys do this in the parking lots..all have the same story or "pitch". They suckered my friend into paying 400 bucks for a home theater system. granted it worked..but it sounded like crap. It said almost $2000.00 retail on the box..but that means nothing..it cost very little to print a label and put any price you want. On occasion there is nothing but rocks and sand in the box.

I told my friend I could have got him a similar or better system for under 100 bucks.

In this case..you may have done okay if it works..but you would have to find out if it is legit. As mentioned though..you have no warranty if it fails in a week or whenever.

Now.. it could also be assumed this is stolen property which could get you in trouble as well. It seems they imply to you they have stolen this from their boss? If this report is not a prank, I have to question your judgment. I know my friend is a big dope..he gets suckered all the time for everything..but no guys in a gas station would get 4 dollars from me..much less 400 unless there was a gun to my head.

Good luck with it.

You've been SCAMMED

What you bouht is either a cheap copy or from some unknown maker that you Can't get parts for WHEN (Not if) It breaks. Or it's a scam completely and when you open the box what's inside is either something else, or doesn't work at all.

The scam works like this, those guys bought this for $50 or so, and peddled it to unknowing FOOLS that think they're getting a deal. You'll find Identical reports here for Armani Jackets  Rolex Watches, and other fake expensive stuff, What you got IS a REAL something, But NOT an expensive projector.

Never buy from "I got these in overstock by accident" Lying peddlers.

Another version was recently tried on me, A black guy walked up to me outside WalMart and tried to "Sell" me a $50 Gift walmart card, saying they wouldn't cash it inside.

The scam works like his, he buys ONE gift card and lifts several more off the rack, Valadates ONE, and sells suckers the others as the Good one.

No way in hell, thief.

Please add to this report what you find inside that box, whether or not it works and if it's 3-D as promised, or not(I'll bet NOT)
