Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I drove for K & B for 9 months starting in January of 2006. They gave me a raise because of my experience but lower than my last job. They also issued me a newer truck and I was happy.

My miles were good but started dropping where I didn't have the miles I needed to pay my bills. Then they started calling my cell phone to interrogate me about where I was, when I was going to get there, etc.

I delivered a load in Waterloo, IA and they didn't have a load for me. They told me to do some runs into IL, with some bucket loader or something (memory lapse) until there was something else. I don't know if it was picking up chicken parts or whatever, but it didn't sound like something I wanted to do, so I just told them I would just hang out at the truckstop and wait.

My dispatcher didn't like that so they gave me an ultimatum: do it or clean out your truck. I reluctantly agreed to clean out my truck and drop it off at the Freightliner across the street. I managed to get a ride to the airport to rent a car and get my stuff out.

They didn't reimburse me or pay me for the 2 weeks they owed me, at least a $1000. Ross and the dispatcher cussed me out. I'd never been treated like that by any trucking company or any company period that way. They're hard to get along with: DON'T WORK THERE!

There are other drivers who do dedicated runs on a salary which is a much higher pay scale than OTR drivers. But, they try to do most of those runs with OTR drivers and the salaried drivers work much less than everybody else. It must be the way they keep at least some drivers happy.

Dale, brush up on the law, and then file a wage claim!!

Dale, Oklahoma is an "at will" employment state. This means either party can terminate the employment relationship at any time without cause, OR NOTICE, unless specified in a labor contract. File a claim with the wage and hour division in OKC. Also file a complaint with the FMCSA jsut to bring their name to the top of the curiousity pile! Also cross-file the wage claim with the USDOL. Now, I'll show you my psychic abilities..... Your DAC report will now show a "truck abandonment" report. They will attempt to blackball you for sure. They all do it when they don't get their way. Hint: BEEF UP the dollar amount on your wage claim. Make them disprove it! This way, you can offset your losses of travel home. Good luck!
