My mother recently passed away. It was rather sudden although she had been sick quite a while. Just before she died, she had ordered a box of over 20 crossword puzzle books. She had been a subscriber for many years.
When she passed away, I called the phone number provided with the order and was told that I could return the books. I sent the books back as directed at my own cost for shipping. Then I was notified by mail that I would not be refunded ANY money either for the books that they now had nor for the shipping that I had just paid to send them to the company.
I responded that I was surprised that a company would quibble over such a small amount of money (to them) and due to the death of a long-time subscriber. I asked they they send me back the books if they would not refund the money. I could at least donate these to my church library. They did this.
There was absolutely no concern over what the relatives were going through. The original customer support representative was very kind and throughtful, but the Customer Service location in Mt Morris IL was thoughtless.
