Re; Case# K2265190, KNAFG526777072901
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
I took my 2007, KIA RONDO in for two Recalls and decided to have a Tune-up, Transmission Oil Change, a new Fab programmed and to add Freon to the Air Conditioning System on March 22nd, with Service Manager Danny Vargas without no rush and would pick it up the following week. The following week on March 27, I was told the air compressor was ruined and needs replacing, I asked about everything else and was quoted $1100, for a new Kia air conditioning part installed. I called Service Manager Danny back and told him I could get an OEM part to him ASAP and he agreed to install it. On Friday, March 30th, I gave him a new part and Drier. At that time I was told by the certified mechanic, it was not a Kia part and that it had a missing adapter of sorts, later I was told it was a part they could install and SM Danny told me at that time, the part had no guarantee on part and no guarantee on labor. I thought, these Professionals lack training, to not be able to install a basic part?I was told car would be ready Monday;
I called Monday April 2nd, 10am to pickup auto but it was not ready and eventually we picked it up and paid $1004, 12:13pm. When leaving the Repair Shop the TPM Tire light remained ON, on the console and the car had a squeaking sound, and the air conditioning was working. My wife took it to work and when turning on the vehicle to return home she saw the Check Engine light go ON and the air conditioner was no longer cooling. We immediately called SM Danny to which we brought it in the car the following day April 4th. After arriving at 11am, I was told to go into the garage at 2:45pm, to tell me the air conditioning hoses were the problem, then that the air compressor was the problem, So I called the part distributor and he asked to talk to Danny and Eddy the mechanic, then I was given the phone back and told the reason they gave was not acceptable because these certified mechanics did not explain satisfactorily the reason the Air compressor was not working and I was denied a replacement. I was again told by SM Danny; no guarantee, so what if the air worked the prior day, no warranty on the labor. I had just had ankle surgery and after waiting for such a long time and treated this way I had to leave without the repairs, check light ON unrepaired, continued squeaking due to the bad belt installation and I was told, the old air compressor was on the counter and now its not, no-one knows the presence of the part. I asked him to make up a new price for a Kia Air Compressor and after three days SM Danny called me and offered it at $700.
When explaining this to Melinda Corrales and Manager Robin Hall they have defended this SM, Certified Mechanic and an attitude of too bad for the lost part, squeakily noise and check engine light ON. In certain conversations I was blamed for not asking for the part back in the initial service, not staying more time after being in the facility three (3) hours and a refusal to accept the F rating by the BBB of the garage we found out later and then told all parts are thrown away a silly excuse these ladies deemed credible? Especially when this repair shop uses After market parts and I supplied an OEM part.
I have never had any problems with this KIA vehicle, and cannot trust your employees to fix it without contradicting themselves or damaging something else or claiming after the repair told, it was going to break. I gave SM Danny the benefit of the doubt by not insisting on all repaired parts to be returned but when I heard the squeaking I thought nothing but that it was breaking-in the new compressor, yet I was told it was not the compressor but the timing belt that could be easily adjusted, additionally I saw that the engine hood located in the back of the vehicle was not replaced, confirming the lack of pride in their work, no customer service to new clients and an atmosphere of ridicule and childishness. Ms Hall asked me repeatedly, what I wanted? What do you seek when going to a shop and paying for service? I want my vehicle to work as we agreed on with the professional assistance of the certified mechanics?! But even the Kia repairs they have refused to honor?! And your customer service reps are absent of this right.
I am appalled and will seek another authorized repair shop and will not go back to this F rated shop. Hoping this other one will have KIA loyalty, pride and professionalism to fix my car. If not I will have to seek legal advise. Thank you for listening to my complaint in the best that I could make due to the surgery and the lapse time, because no-one really cares about my complaint at the headquarter nor local level.
Sincerely,
Pablo M
