Kirby Vacuum ripoff Charlotte North Carolina
On Sept 22, a young lady rang my doorbell shortly after my kids came home from school, and asked me something about my opinion being free after handing me a bootle of Dawn dishwashing detergent. I said sure, and was quite distured when a salesperson came in with several boxes which he proceeded to assemble. After several minutes of demonstration, approx 30, I sat down and thought, hey, this vacuum does work well. After a phone call to his manager, another man shows up at my house and I agree to purchase their vacuum. The "manager" uses a coin to get my credit card imprint, and the group leaves happy that I purchased their vacuum. The "manager" calls me back in a few minutes and needs a code from my credit card. Shortly after they left, I got on line and realized that this is somewhat of a scam - the vacuum does work, but the sales pitch is quite predictable, and these salespeople are crooks. I call the manager back within an hour of their leaving my house and tell him I need to return the vacuum. They do come the next day (at a time I told the manager I would not be at home since I had to work and thankfully, my husband was at home) and pick up the vacuum. One week later, they have yet to credit my credit card account. I have changed my number, and have the credit card company investigating the charge. These people do apparently have a good product, but their tactics stink! and they do not do good business.
