I wish the other RipOff Report had been posted when we hired Kirchner Construction. That poster is telling the EXACT truth. That is exactly what we went through. Matt Kirchner comes off as a nice guy but it is all a scam. He gets your money and then rarely shows up/has people show up. He will look you in the face and lie to you, then deny he ever said it. You will send emails but you won't hear from him for weeks. He will insist on more money to just do what he previously agreed to do. Even when you give him specific, detailed directions in writing he will not do what you want, will order the wrong parts, will install things wrong and or of poor quality and get angry when you ask to have your written instructions followed.
The work quality is horrible. We are paying huge amounts to have most of what he did redone. Few contractors want to take over from him because they all know how bad his work is and don't want to be associated with him in any way. We were told the job would take 4-8 weeks originally. Then 8-12 weeks. He only finished 1/3 (and most of that was wrong) when we fired him EIGHT MONTHS later.
We checked around before we signed with him. He does have some good recommendations. After our problems we later learned that many others have had issues with him. It appears he only works for some, the rest he tries to scam. If you aren't well connected in the community, or heaven forbid if you aren't local and tyring to do something long distance, good luck. Reading one or two good reviews does not mean he is honest/reputiable. There are many, many people we've talked to after the fact that have learned the hard way.
