Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This place Claims to be a homeless shelter that provides housing, food, clothing, transportation, document recovery, GED prep, life skill classes, job search assistance, job training, financial management and housing transition assistance. I am a resident and I have to pay over $300 in rent, as well as utilities, am forced to work without pay in their thrift store. They only accept cash and will not provide me a receipt. I have to buy my own food and everything else. The other residents keep eating my food I buy with the little money I earn doing odd end jobs, the house is infested with roaches and we are not allowed to have air conditioning with this hot weather. I can't even save money to get back on my feet. We are constantly getting yelled at by the house supervisor at 3 mandatory meetings a week about him owning us. This organization is a big scam. Where is all the fundraising money going if we have to pay for everything with the little money we scrape together to not be thrown back on the street. I feel I might be better off living back on the street.

Not convinced with second consumer

The consumer who filed the rebuttal against the original complaint has not disproved any of the claims in the original post. I have copies of contracts that had to be signed with the payments required monthly to live in the "homeless" shelter. He also failed to mention that these Bible studies were mandatory no matter what your religion or beliefs it was forced on the residents.

The community has realized that Kirk Healing Center is a fraud, which is why it has lost it's funding from the United Way. That is no secret because it was on the front page of the local news paper the Costal Courier. The thrift store has been shut down for months because nobody wanted any part of it.

By the way the rebuttal is written, it appears to be written by someone working for the Kirk Healing Center pretending to be a former resedent. If that is the case, shame on you. If you really were helped by the center, then that is wonderful that not everyone was damaged by this place.

I disagree with the following report

I would just like to say that I disagree with the following report being made against the Kirk Healing Center. I stayed in the Mens home under the Kirk Healing Center back In Januray 2015,up until around late March of 2015. Let me just start off by saying that the Kirk Healing Center program was really good to me aorund that time, really when I had no where else to go. I occasionally helped out the K&K thrift store, volunteering as that was strictiy what was inform way before helping out there. They had bible study every Wenesday night where they did encourage applicants of the homes to attend when they could. I belive the whole purpose of the Kirk Healing Center goal was to help those get back on their feet, with what little that they could. Motivate those who had just given on just about everything.
