Kroger Express Co. Sent a large check to become a secret shopper. Internet
I received a letter and a check to become a secret shopper. I was asked to deposit the check into my account, take the funds and proceed to my assignment. My financial institution told me the next day the check was bogus. It cost me fees, a couple hundred dollars.

This is a SCAM, not a rip off. It is a well-known scam type that exploits human's greed. There is no such "free money" for anyone in the world. It does not make sense, but it seems to be sound to those who are in the situation that greed can override the reasoning. Sorry to hear about your situation but I hope you have learned it. Remember, "too good to be true" deal always has a catch (and you will end up losing more than you gain)!
