Krout Properties Complete RIPOFF!!! Cullman, Alabama
Krout Properties are the biggest krooks i have ever encountered. I regretably signed a lease Friday 6-22-12 for an apartment in a building that should be condemned (1317B Schneider Rd. S.E. Cullman, Al 35055). The front appears alright, but once you get around to the back and start really looking...it is absolutely apolling. There is no way it was legal for them to rent this apartment to me. The building should be torn down. Every apartment in the building is run down, vacant, and just disturbing to sat eyes on. The only apartment in the building that is being rented is the one rented to myself. First of all, the front door will not even close without fooling with it for ten minutes. The dead bolt is not functional, and even if it were, I was not given a key. The carpet..covered in pet dander, vibrating smelly pipes, no lightbulbs, no ceiling fixture in living room or closets, windows unable to lock, no key for back door, the back door has clearly been broken into before, no security lights and several other things. On top of all of this though, the back of the building is vandelized with spray paint with busted windows and trash everywhere. Most the vacant apartment doors are left open. The apartments are trashed and look as if they will collapse at any moment. My 15 month old son cannot live in these conditions. Teenagers have clearly been messing around in these vacant apartments. Nothing has been taken care of in this building. I believe it was illegal to even have been rented and I am determined to get my deposit and rent back in full. I have not even moved my things in yet, and for good reason. This building should be condemned and i should not have to be stuck there for 12 months as said on the lease which they have broken either way. Krout Properties should be ashamed and they should be shut down. People have the right to live in clean, safe homes. Not in that soory excuse for a home. I will be getting my money back in full. They will pay for what they have done to me and many others im sure. Please do not rent from Krout Properties. That was the biggest mistake of my life. Now I have to get out of it somehow.
