L&B Management and Uptown Properties (both in cincinnati, OH) are the worst management companies for apartments in cincinnati, OH. My roommate and I signed a lease with Uptown Properties in Oct/Nov of 2010 for a 1 year lease. Mid-april my roommate started to issue threats on my property, to get me beat up, and on my life. I contacted Uptown Properties to get myself removed from lease, and they told me and my roommate to just come to the office when we can to sign me off the lease. Then all of a sudden we get a notice on our door stating that L & B Management has just taken over management of the building. According to L & B Management, their policy is that they don't allow people to get off the lease. I even explain my entire predicament with them. But I did have my roommate sign a statement on April 30 to release me from all financial responsibilities of the apartment, so Hopefully it will hold up in court if we are sued for the remainder of the lease. My roommate and I are now facing an eviction for this month (May) because he couldn't pay the rent. I can't even get a new place to live because of L & B Management will not allow my roommate to sign me off the lease. Last Wednesday (May 4, 2011), I tried contacting the leasing agent Dan to discuss the problem to get me off the lease but he still has not contacted me and it is Wednesday May 11. I tried many times to contact him and even left voice-mails, but he still ignored his responsibilities to call me back within 72 hours. This company, L & B Management, is unjust and unprofessional. They deserve to be shut down. My roommate could have stabbed me and they wouldn't have let me off the lease, that is how horrible this company is.
