I think everyone needs to see this to beware of LaCris. I just got another car the other day from another dealership, and it's a great car so far. It's been 4 days, which means it's doing better than the other one that broke down a day after I bought it. I'm filling out court papers and submitting them this week. I've been so busy I haven't had the time to drop them off. I also had to wait on the mechanic to write me out a statement letting me know what was wrong. He wrote something about the intake being JBWelded, and my car almost catching on fire. Also the wrong head on my vehicle and this was admittedly done by the dealer that sold me the car. I just hope to get my money back!

I didn't have the extra money to pay a mechanic to look at it. I trusted the dealer, he was a mechanic - or so he says. He SAID it passed inspection. I test-drove the car. Like I could tell the blinkers didn't work? I tried them out, I didn't know they didn't work on the outside. They said it was inspected two days prior to me being there so I figured it would STILL pass inspection. In all reality, they didn't ever have it inspected. And like I could tell the wipers were bad? They looked fine to me. And the tires? They were not completely worn from what I could see. I figured .. used car.. used tires. I didn't know they were so bad they wouldn't pass. I needed a car, he knew it, and he took advantage of me. I should not be questioned on WHY I bought the car. I drove it, I thought it was fine, I needed a vehicle to get me back and forth to work. When I got a divorce I gave my husband everything because I couldn't afford to fight him in court. I have the kids, he has the "stuff" - including a 1995 Sidekick I was paying off. So it's not like I had too many options with $900 and no credit.

Sadie... I don't know how much time you have on your hands but with kids probably not much! You said you had to get them to inspect this car, right? Why did you agree to buy this thing without having it inspected first? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it? You said it needed new wipers, new tires and "blinkers" to pass inspection. These are EASY to spot problems that anyone can see. Did you actually check this car out? I don't think so. I can fully appreciate your exact position with kids etc. Safety and durability are of concern. Next time, find a mechanic YOU pay to check over the car BEFORE you buy it. If the dealer won't let you do that...WALK OUT! Next time, don't EVER buy a car which needs work, inspection etc. Have them do that stuff BEFORE you buy it.

Way too much time on my hands? It took me a total of 15 minutes to write up two complaints. I'm sorry if you can't type, spell, or read that fast but that is not my problem. The dealer RIGGED THE CAR! He JBWELDED THE INJECTORS! And that's not his fault? A bank WOULD finance me but it was cheaper and more convenient to go through this car dealership. It was cheaper because he knew the car was a piece of crap. There were HOLES drilled in the INTAKE of my car. He had just put the WRONG head on the vehicle the day before. It drove PERFECTLY the first day because of the JBWELD but the GAS that was LEAKING (because of the drilled holes) ate away at the JBWELD. It sounds like you don't know much about cars, even less than I do. I am going to take him to small claims court because I do have a case. The car did not even pass inspection - in Missouri it is illegal for a dealership to sell a car that doesn't pass inspection. I know my kids are not the dealer's worries, problems, concerns but HOW on earth would you sleep at night knowing that because of the car YOU sold me, I had to walk with 2 kids in the freezing cold? I guess someone like you could, though. And thanks Marc for the kind report. Sounds like someone else is on the rag.

Most states have laws against dealers selling cars with such obvious jury-rigged repairs, and I think this qualifies. In my state at least, a car MUST have a current saftey sticker to be legally sold by a dealer. You will have to contact your Attorney Generals office, and you may be able to do most of your research om-line. Dealers are held to a higher standard than private parties, and you may be able to prosecute him for fraud.

Sadie I think you may have too much time on your hands. I saw your other complaint on this site againt Walmart.I dont have much to say about that, but plenty to say about your complaint against the car dealer.First of all, your kids are not the car dealers concern or anyone elses! You alone chose to bring them into the world and they are YOUR responsibility.Second of all you bought an inexpensive car and financed it with the dealer probably because a bank would not finance you.You act like you expected to buy a new car and not expect any problems and that is just not realistic thinking. You said youself you drove the car and that" it drove perfectly" and that you were "very impressed".The car dealer probably thought the same thing when he drove it before he bought or traded for it.I doubt you have proof that he did the repair work on the car.It sounds to me like you accused him of purposly selling you a lemon and of course he would be less than excited to help you resolve the problem. You need to take a look at what you have done to put yourself in these situations and stop blaming others for your misfortunes.
