But hold on, making money is not a crime in the US! Yes, it is not a crime to rake in all the money but at what expense? The company is posting record earnings on the backs of innocent people. They do not have to pay for vehicle insurance, fuel, maintenance or employment taxes. Lasership has been taking advantage of the independent Contractor Law loophole to avoid all expenses associated with drivers and delivery of packages. As result, you may end up getting very poor delivery service of your Amazon packages. What should you expect for low wages? Take a look at the horror stories here on Yelp  , Ripoffreport

Amazon is a world-class operation that is making a pricey mistake by teaming up with Lasership, based on the feedback that we saw online, Amazon may be loosing market share and potential customers due to the incompetence of Lasership and its ICs. Packages are constently miss-delivered, lost or damaged.

For a growing number of companies, including Target, FedEx Ground and Comcast, cutting costs means removing workers from the payroll or bringing on new workers sometimes through intermediary companies without making them full employees. The Society for Human Resource Management, representing company personnel departments nationwide, said it surveyed members in October 2008 and found 12 percent of them were moving to use more independent contractors, contingent and temporary workers because of the recession. Lasership is no exception here! They use Independent Contractors to avoid paying employment taxes, workmen compensation and unemployment. But the ABUSE does not stop here:

-Lasership verbal abuse of IC: name calling and swearing.
-Lasership disregard for IC safety:
-Unsafe work environment in warehouses.
-Lasership inconsistent distribution of volume: they said they owe the IC nothing, they give you the volume you deserve!
-Lasership discriminates base on race and gender in all their hiring practices.
-Lasership Payments and cash settlements show high percentage of payment errors that favor the company.
-Lasership treats IC as employees by directing IC to do the work and controlling how they do it.
-Lasership management witnessed calling out and discriminating against minorities from Brazil and Latin America.
-Lasership unfair compensation to IC while raking in the profits.

Why Recant?

Interesting statements made. Two years later, the only difference, I don't see the racism. Huffington Post had similar article. This is the way they do business. Just like the others. I think they should make part of this and parts from HP article into a disclaimer for new contractors. For some people, this kind of job, actually works for them. Why recant? Maybe your intentions were off and evidence was missing, but it is still happening today...

Re: LasershipExposed.com

I acknowledge and apologize for my actions in late March and early April 2012, during which I posted disparaging comments regarding Lasership and its business. My actions included creating the Internet web site lasershipexposed.com as well as related social media pages, including on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, as well as accounts purportedly created by Alex Webb,as well as other posting on various Internet message boards, and a written letter to the CEO of Amazon.com.

I posted statements on www.lasershipexposed.com and elsewhere, regarding Laserships business practices and accusing it of unlawful discrimination, OSHA violations, poor customer service, and other unlawful and unethical activity. Those statements had no basis in fact and were completely untrue. I made these statements solely out of anger and emotion, and upon further reflection, I disavow them completely and I unconditionally retract them.

I sincerely apologize to Lasership, you and your partners personally, your customers, your contractors, and others who have been misled by my actions, and I truly regret having said and done the things I did.
