LaVelle Ward contacted me in 2009 regarding a real estate deal. He was kind, friendly, and full of an exuberance that you don't see very often in business people. I actually found it refreshing for a bit but then it really seemed like he was pouring it on. His stories weren't natural. His tone, at first refreshing, almost too fresh.
It wasn't too hard to research a few references and I very quickly learned that Lavelle was quite possibly a con-man. I was able to find people from 5+ years ago that he had promised money to then just as quickly disappeared when he was supposed to pay them. In fact (time after time) it seemed like Lavelle Ward would be your best friend and was full of encouragement and enthusiasm until it came time for him to deliver anything on his end.
My understanding is that he is currently under investigation from Chicago law officials as wells as the FBI. My advice? Steer clear!!
