When I contacted this company to make arrangements on the debt I owed, they said that they could not take less than 10% as a down payment of the amount totally owed. They threatened me with court and the manager there yelled at me for having a car payment and said that I am irresponsible and did this to myself. That he couldn't help me as long as I owned a car and that I should have let it be repo'd.
He went on to say that my spending habits are WAY out of hand and that I am punishing myself with my actions. He never took into consideration that I am in the mortgage and real estate industry in southern california during the worst time in real estate and lending EVER!
He told me he would call my wife, mother and anyone else he could to ruin my life!

The Georgia Supreme Court says Hanna is a "law firm," so you have to submit a bar complaint vs. them (and not a consumer complaint with the state OCA or federal FCC -- but fine if you do that too anyway). You may submit a bar complaint vs. Fred Hanna (the owner of the "firm") and any atty. that may have contacted you that also violated bar rules for atty.s:

You need to stop cotacting them. Let them call you. I suggest taping them and their comments. Then hire a NACA lawyer on contingency. You could go to Debtorboard(.)com. they offer free help. File a complaint with Calif attorney General.
These people are idiots. They don't care. They want your money and will harass you and lie. Let it go in one ear and out the other. Don't fall for their threats. Laugh at them.
You got to get them on tape then get a NACA lawyer. I had one and they are great.

Send a stop contact letter by fax 100 times a day do this until it says fax error that way he ran out of paper and ink for his fax machine . I read another report when some one did this to this SOB and it drove him crazy.

The Georgia Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Hanna. We have no one in Georgia who will hold them accountable for breaking the law. Minnesota has a real Attorney General who does her job, but Georgia has always been a very corrrupt State.

Filing a complaint with the FTC will NOT protect your rights! The FTC does NOT do individual enforcement of your rights! Your complaint to the FTC will only generate a form letter explaining your rights under the FDCPA and FCRA, and your complaint will be archived for possible later use such as a class action, etc.
The ONLY way to enforce your rights under the FDCPA is to file a lawsuit.

They absolutely are going against the law by harassing you, telling you they will call others in your behalf. This is ILLEGAL. File a complaint ASAP!
