The merchant opened two accounts with our company on December 12, 2006 and also purchased two MTT 1510 wireless terminals. The merchant states he decided to purchase the equipment versus leasing to avoid the $39.00 monthly lease fee, as well as a lease contract. By purchasing the equipment the merchant did avoid paying a monthly lease payment however, this has nothing to do with the LEADERS credit card processing agreement and its associated fees. The merchant states they were to only be charged a $17.00 monthly wireless fee, not the $58.00 taken from one account and $62.00 from another account. All of our fees were disclosed to the merchant. The wireless fees as well as all of our processing fees are clearly stated in our Merchant Application, which was signed by the merchant. The charges to purchase equipment have nothing to do with the monthly fees associated with a merchant credit card processing account. The contract the merchant signed clearly shows the fees assessed to the merchant, and we always urge our merchants to read their contract. The merchant contacted our Customer Care Department to close one of his accounts. The merchant's account was closed on August 6, 2007, and as a courtesy to the merchant no, Early Termination Fee was charged. The merchant was also issued a refund for August monthly fees, for this account in the amount of $58.00. The merchant continues to process credit card transactions on his second account. It is our understanding the merchant is pleased with our service, so we are very perplexed by the merchant's complaint. We welcome a call from the merchant to Corrie Fietsch our Merchant Services Manager at 877-538-3377, to remedy any other concerns.
