Learning Express of Birmingham, Alabama, refuses to return a defective item purchased at their store, despite the fact that they have a 30 day return policy. Adding insult to injury, the owner of the store has repeatedly insulted me and my wife, saying that any normal consumer would never try to return any item, and that the toy could not possibly be defective.
When I asked her on the phone if I could demonstrate how the product is defective, she told me "no," and that I was "never to set foot in her store again," or I would be thrown out.
I have tried calling her several times, but before I can utter a complete sentence, the owner begins to rant and rave about how stupid, dishonest, and unreasonable I am. She has told me repeatedly (before hanging up on me) that I am "completely out of line," guilty of "harassment," and that I am "a strange man."
At the same time, she has the audacity to state that she "bends over backwards" for all of her customers. My wife and I are absolutely flabbergasted by this bizarre behavior. All we want is our money back, as is the policy of this store. And yet, the only person "allowed" to give us a refund, the owner, is by far the most unreasonable, hideous, rude, delusional, paranoid human being I have ever encountered in my 33 years.
Folks, no one, and I mean no one, deserves to be treated in this manner. Mass murderers on trial get more respect than this person has given us. In my opinion, she is a discredit to our community, to her business, and to humankind in general.
