Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

So it all started when I purchased a Schott Perfecto jacket online from Leather Works' website (since I do live in France).

At first, the guy (who claimed to be the owner) came up as a nice person, informative and professional (always replying within a 10-minute delay from his iPhone). So, thinking I could do business with him, I purchased the jacket and paid $680 with my Paypal account. He said he would send a tracking number once the package would ship.

It's been a full week now and let me tell you that I still haven't received any tracking number at all. Plus, the guy has become strangely silent and didn't not even reply to my last e-mail. I thought he could have problems (it could happen, right ?) so I wanted to be sure he was still alive by sending him a message with another e-mail address of mine, claiming that I needed informations on a specific jacket and using a fake first and last name. Guess what : less than 10 minutes later, a reply - very informative - landed in my secondary mailbox, which only proves that the guy is doing well and, most importantly, that he's a SCAM.

I just opened a dispute via Paypal right now, so his Paypal account(s) should be closed within the next 20 days.

But stay away from this store (based in Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ) and from their online store (http://leatherworksofnj.com/). They'll scam you for sure, so don't be fooled by the apparent kindness of the person replying from his iPhone.

By the way, if you research "LeatherWorks" on this site, you'll see that, back in 2006, somebody reported a store named "LeatherWorks" which seems to be based in California. But if you read below the report, you'll see that Leather Words Edison NJ (the one I'm reporting here) felt the need to mention that they were not affiliated by any means to this other LeatherWorks company. How ironic (one would probably say "funny", but I'm not in the mood for using this word) that they do the EXACT SAME with their customers. Think about it !

Anyway, this story is far from being over since I plan on reporting this guy everywhere I can : report scam websites, forums, Paypal, the mall they have their store at, Schott NYC and also to the authorities. I'm gonna spend hours informing the world about this scam !

Also, to end up this report, I just noticed now that somebody reported (on Google Reviews) that they could be selling Michael Kors bags when they are not even allowed to.

People, do yourself a favour and STAY AWAY from Leather Works based in Edison, NJ. THEY ARE SCAMS !

After a few days of slience, the owner finally sent the tracking number.

THIS COMPANY AND ITS OWNER ARE NOT SCAMS.

They only lacked of communication at some point, which I fully forgive. I'll probably deal with them once again in the future since the owner convinced me he was serious.

I have written this ripoff moment in a panic moment (I was scammed over $1100 seven months ago and I thought I was experiencing the same again).

My apologies to the owner(s) of Leather Works based in Edison, NJ.
